Am I the only one here that thinks one quart in 6K miles is not excessive? A little on the high side perhaps given modern engines but at least you know that the value stems and upper cylinders are getting lubrication.

Now a quart in every 2K miles would be high but it wasn't that long ago that was the norm.

If you do look at those numbers from an S perspective, also remember that Audi needs to also reserve their RS-line models for the top of the line performance models, pretty much pushing the performance to the absolute limits that the vehicle can handle.
How are you liking your S3? When did you get it?

So I understand.
Someone said that the C looks like the Q40/G35. I saw one driving down the freeway and I saw the resemblance in the general silhouette. I think it looks a bit dated. The POS CLA looks way better. I'm sure the C43 is great but the exterior is blah and the tablet stuck on the dash sucks.

Different c classes can look different. The base models look like trash but the loaded c450/c43 with the 19s and panoramic moon roof with cranberry or the brown nappa leather looks **** good.

Take you Mothers Q and go drive the snot out of it for a few days.. It's probably burning oil cause she babies it. The german cars typically have very hard cylinder bore surfaces and the rings are commensurately hard. Problem is the cars get babied and have full synthetic oil and the rings don't seal well so they burn oil. I owned an A4 in 06 drove the snot out of it.. NEVER used a drop between changes. My Son has a VW Golf R.. Drives the snot out of it.. doesn't use any oil.. I've owned numerous BMW motorcycles.. BMW recommend NO Synthetic oil until at least 10K miles so the rings seat well.. Buy a high performance german car that is built for the Autobahn and drive it like a Buick.. and yes it'll burn freaking oil.

Infiniti's VQ35's were terrible with burning oil.

Seems like most manufacturers have nailed that issue down though now.
Infiniti fixed it in the VQ37.

One quart every 6000 miles doens't seem unreasonable for me.
I guess I just have the old school thinking.
With a very high performance engine, it's going to burn some oil.

It would be interesting to hear how the VR's do with oil.
