Pretty sure I would take the Touring V6 model Accord or dare I say CVT coupled Maxima over the Camry any day.

Good post! I had also recently saw pics of the new Camry. They have stated they will build 'more exciting cars' - and the SE and XSE Camry are a step in the right direction.

A few comments:

honestly, FWD vs RWD - For a daily driver - crawling up and down a freeway - I don't think there will be much noticeable difference.

mods - most people doing the DD thing - 3 year lease - don't mod anyway.

Reliability - probably better, not that I have had any issues with my '15

Interior - both in looks, quality, and space - the new Camry seems to be competitive.

There are folks that state they will never own a Camry - but I think they may be missing the point. In style, performance, and maybe pricing - it is encroaching on many sport sedans. I believe they will continue to sell bunches. Old ladies will drive the 4cyl. And some with sporting intentions will step up to the V6. I know when my lease is up in 14 months, I owe it to myself to at least take one for a drive.

Although I must say - why a new design doesn't have Apple CarPlay is beyond me. Most likely a cost thing (they have to pay a license for each car sold). Entune 3.0 is OK I guess - but.... (same to you Infiniti - stop fighting it and jump into the carplay arena!)

My brother has a '13 SE Camry V6 right now, and it's pretty quick. That's about all I can say about it though haha. If he ends up trading in his Camry for the new one, I'll definitely be driving both and writing about my opinions on here. If not then oh well. It looks kind of promising. Still getting a Q50 though :P

Much better styling on the outside, still the same terrible looking interior.

I actually think that, in general but not always, Toyota/Lexus makes better interiors than Nissan/Infiniti. I don't know about this case, but if you compare my current 2013 Maxima to my brother's 2013 Camry, it really is Night and Day, my Maxima's interior looks kind of old compared to his Camry's. Just my personal opinion.

I saw a more in depth article on Motor Trend. The sporty one (red) doesn't look bad but won't be the one most people get. It clearly is a sport package with larger wheels and sport styling. The silver one has rims that remind me of an ES. Overall, the styling of that version reminds me more of an ES. I'm not sure I think that's a good thing.

Still, there's no way this is even close to the list if I'm looking for a new car. I don't think I can mentally get over that it's a Camry. it's only a matter of time before we start seeing these with the infamous Camry dent.

The Camry may be reliable but you couldn't pay me to take another on. They're ugly, even this latest model, both in and out. I assume they've improved the handling but even then, it's hideous. There's no cohesion in the design - you could take the front and back off and you wouldn't know it was a toyota. Toyota's whole range of vehicles are incredibly disappointing to me.

Coming from an Accord to a Red Sport I can tell you that the Q50 and Camry are two different cars. The Camry is more of a cruiser. It is large, feels large and isn't too sporty. If you do mostly long trips and a ton of highway driving the Camry would probably be better for you. If you do anything else and don't do much highway driving and want a less practical but a LOT more fun car then I would go with the Q50.

The first thing I noticed was the Q50 had tighter steering, a lot less body roll and the whole car felt tighter. The Camry and Accord are getting so large they are bordering on being full size cars. I prefer the smaller more sporty compacts / small midsize cars but what you prefer depends on what you want out of the car.

Looks are definitely subjective but I'm still not a fan of the styling of any Toyota vehicles. The grilles like horrible and the interior layout I'm just not a fan of. I prefer to feel like I'm in cockpit instead of driving a boat.

Current Jaguar doesnt really have the appeal as the old ones once did. To me they are a mix in between Japanese and German cars. Their top of the line XE R-SPORT lacks a lot of features the Red Sport has. For example RS comes standard with LED headlights, much more powerful engine, and many other things. Red Sports appeal is the engine, and the Jag even with its supercharger cant touch the RS400. Their 0-60 is 5.1s, while the RS400 can do 4.4-.5 with an AWD setup as some members on this forum were able to achieve.

Genesis G80 and the brand as a whole will be very limited. People buy up their econoboxes simply to get to A-B, you never hear people actually having any fun with them. Notice I put both Genesis and Hyundai in the same boat, because perception wise its the same thing. With today's maket being so saturated with so many nice cars I dont see how introducing another brand will help anyone, especially an unestablished one. Their Genesis brand looked decent on the outside but interior is already looking dated as they cant come up with an original design to save their life. Then there is the mechanical issues. Their engines still burn oil more than BMW's. Take a look at the forums and how much people were having issues with their V8s and smaller engines. No thanks.
