I owned an '06 Lexus SC430 that came with RF tires and it was bouncy and jarring over bumps. I replaced them with Michelin P/S and the ride became smooth and the car handled much better. I also replaced the Dunlops (non-RF) with Michelin Pilot Super Sports on my '13 GS F Sport and saw a noticeable difference in handling and comfort.

The runflats on the BMWs were actually the reason I went with my Audi S5. Drove a 335is with runflats and hated the ride. Even if I lease I will trade out the tires.

Quick question, but do RFT's have a lower profile than non-RFT's? Basically, do the non-RFT's look "beefier" than RFT's?

Of the exact same size and aspect ratio? There may be a very slight tread width difference from brand to brand but generally the answer is no.

Thanks for the response. Sounds kind of like a noob question but I just honestly had no idea as this is my first vehicle with RFT's.

How much did the dealership charge you for the tire and wheel protection and which dealership did you go through?
