I debated with him, but he didn't budge. However, it makes sense; Mr. Albaisa (sp) stated that the Q60 will have the same engine as the Q80 Inspiration - that thing produces 442hp alone. So it's quite possible...at least I hope.

The new B58 engine for the upcoming BMW 340i/440i (replacement for 335i/435i) is rumored to have close to 370hp (which I imagine will be underrated). Infiniti can't come to this gunfight half-cocked; need to kick in the door guns-a-blazing...400hp will definitely accomplish that.
I think the fact that you and I both live in different parts of the country (world?) and heard the same rumor is a very good sign. Since this is technically a concept, I'd also be surprised if they just stuck the 3.7 in it. My money's on this rumor being true.

The real question is where am I going to start stripping so I can buy it.

This is the first I heard about the 340 and 440i. Cars are just getting more and more powerful. By the time my grandkids are old enough to drive there will be Toyota Corollas with 500 hp.

If the specs are correct, I may consider swinging around a pole making it rain too!!

Oh boy, that's a horrible image .... lol!! Nearly spilled my drink thinking about it!

Car and Driver just doesn't like Infiniti. I'm convinced. How is the naming scheme in any way obtuse? It makes perfect sense. How much further into the ground is Car and Driver going to drive this? Get over it.

...and THAT'S what I am talking about. No matter what, they will find something negative to say. It has been 2 years since the whole name change thing was announced. Let it go! The whole article was pointless and irrelevant to the Q60 concept and deliberately made the name changes seem complicated, when they're not.

I just don't get it. I used to get annoyed when they would take digs at the name change in every single article they wrote about Infiniti, but now I'm more just amazed when I see it because I'm thinking how much longer are they going to go on about this? This is in no way journalism. It's just mean-spirited, biased, witless writing.

I think we will continue to see sport hybrid options from Infiniti and I'm hoping we see a 400+ hp option hybrid for the Q60.

I understand the Q60 will have a 2.0t, a 3.7 N/A, and a "400+" hp 3.0tt. I haven't heard anything about a hybrid probably because a hybrid would have too little trunk space, but it would be cool if they could.
