Default Fuel Pump

The fuel pump went out on my '16 RS. The car only has 3500 miles and my dealer said this is the first time he's seen this happen on a RS.

Anyone else have any issues?

If anyone cares...I got my car back today. Infiniti on Camelback is a great dealership for those who need service. My loaner was a QX30 and no offense to anyone who has one but the transmission is awful. Very cramped inside too but the car handles VERY well. The repair took over a week due to a shortage of Q50 fuel pumps on back order.

It happens, could of been a bad pump out of 1000. Nothing a trip to the dealer wont fix.

It's true, some parts fail soon after leaving the factory, while others can last the lifetime of the car. Nature of buying new cars.

Broken record. Stuff happens. At least you've had a good attitudes about it and were treated well by the dealership.

The fact that they are on backorder makes me wonder if there is not a more widespread problem.

I don't think it is...I know this dealership works closely with Infiniti of Scottsdale and they both do a lot of volume. My service guy, who is great, said this is the first time he's seen or heard of this happening to any Q50.

One or two dealers. New engine. Not much of a sample. Time will tell if it is an ongoing issue.

Generally a fuel pump failure is a pretty rare occurrence in any car with that low of mileage. Someone here mentioned 1 out of 1000. I'd consider that significant. I hope it is just a fluke and they get you back on the road quickly. It sucks to have your new car sitting in the shop.

Gotcha...it seemed odd to me also. On the plus side, Infinitis' loaner car system is excellent.
