Question 2G to 3G Upgrade causing GPS location problem?

I need help. Had my 2014 Q50 telematics upgraded to 3G just as directed by memo from Infiniti. Had to return to dealer service a second time, because the tech "forgot a step" and as a result, the new 3G hardware didn't work. Now, two days later, my Nav and GPS systems have gone whacky. Onboard compass has me facing the wrong way and current location of my vehicle (as shown on Nav screen) has me about 7 miles away from actual. Any suggestions?

Default Reboot didn't work

I did a reset of In Touch System, and the GPS problem is still there.

Okay, I think I fixed the problem. I entered my current vehicle position into the Nav system manually, and that appears to have done the job. If problem arises again, I will be back to dealer.

Problem came back almost immediately after driving a few minutes. Compass direction appears to be correct, but location on map is way off.

Odd... i have the upgrade and no issues at all. Just going to have to keep taking it back... or try a different dealer that's more competent?

Maybe they loosened the antennae connection when they did the upgrade?

Returned to the dealer today. They said that the telematics upgrade has nothing to do with the Nav GPS system, so they don't believe their tech's original work had anything to do with the current GPS location problem. They checked over all connections and reset the NAV to the current location and told me to return if/when it goes out of whack again. I told them that I have done this exact same thing twice before, and I'm pretty sure it will go haywire soon. If that is the case, they promised to replace the NAV/antenna system. I'd still like to hear from you if you have any ideas as to what might be causing the problem.

Well, I spoke to soon in my previous post. I can do stuff like unlock/lock my doors via my phone BUT when I press the SOS button it gets an error saying "Unable to connect to center". I have the free subscription active, there is signal and everything looks fine. Called Infiniti Connection and they said to just take it back to the dealer as everything looks fine on their end.

Joy!

I have the same problem. My TCU was updated last week and I still cannot connect to Infiniti Connection. The SOS button fails to connect as does the Voice Menu on the dash display. It just says connecting to Voice Menu and nothing replies. I had it back at the dealer 3 times and called the Infiniti Connection help twice. All to no avail. I think everyone involved from the dealer to Infiniti itself is clueless about the cause or resolution this problem.

I should have known not to guinea pig this "update" as no auto manufacturer short of Tesla seems to know anything about designing and maintaining consumer style electronics. They are experts at transmissions, engines, suspensions, but complete idiots when it comes to the center console.
