Default InTouch UPDATE

Hey guys, just found out some interesting info relating to the InTouch implementation while on call with the Infiniti Consumer Affairs department (concerning a different issue). Here is what I was informed during the call. (some of you guys may already be aware of this information at this point).


1.) The recent roll out to was a premature error. This was only suppose to be a test in the UK market, where per ICA, the Q50 ownership is sustainably smaller than in the US present day.

2.) InTouch system will be "available" in the next 30 days. Dealerships will be notified and begin rolling out in phases informing current owners of Q50's to bring their vehicles in for software updates.

3.) The update will take roughly 2 hours to complete. Once done, the dealership should provide the link where the app can be downloaded for the users compatible iOS or Android device.

4.) And lastly, There is not a full listing of the Apps available as of yet. TBA.

Agreed, good info. Does anyone know if this 'update' that we need to bring the scars in for is solely for the apps or is this to improve the system overall as well? It seems like if we have to go in for a 2 hr update, they should be doing more than downloading an app that I did in under 5 minutes in my garage. I hope so, a 'snappier' system would be nice.

If I did not hear it myself today, I would assume its a rumor as well. However, its information directly from Infiniti Consumers Affairs. But don't take my word for it. If you purchased your Q50 and have signed up for Infiniti Connection, I encourage you to call and talk with them directly as I. 1-800-662-6200 option 1, then option 3.

ICA also told me when I first got the car the week of the release that the apps would be available in a month....still waiting....

I'll believe it when I see it. Thanks for the updated info @Red Samurai -- it gives us some hope.
