Default First Mod on 2017 RS400 - JB1

Hi Guys.
Just did my first mod today. Dipped my toes in the water with a JB1. Installed and set to map 1 (+3psi).
I'm assuming none of the fields on "User Adjustment" tab are relevant if I'm set to map 1.

I welcome any and all counsel as I know a lot of you guys started your journey with a JB1.

I went with a JB4 cause I have a Standard 3.0 Sport, I can play with my PSI a lot more, not to mention its very nice to data log and see how my car runs with my current parameters. I think a JB1 is a good idea with a RS though, youíre running much more stock PSI than me so adding +3 should be enough in my eyes. Good luck with the build!

Good Luck! You're correct, on Map 1 there are no user adjustments. On Map 3, though, Default Wastegate Position and Boost Safety are the only settings applicable to JB1. Boost Safety is the + boost you run. DWP controls how soon the extra boost kicks in. At higher than +3 boost levels, you may find that increasing the DWP smooths out the boost.

For a JB1 on a RS though, because there's no way to log engine parameters, I wouldn't recommend changing the default values, and recommend map 1.

That's good info and thanks. I'll be leaving it at map1 for now unless someone convinces me otherwise.

You may consider upgrading your Stage 1 to a JB4 with BT connectivity.

For only $100, I’d do it in a heart beat. A one time fee will give you not only the piece of mind of being able to keep an eye on your motor and how it’s running with the JB but also it enables you to choose your mapping, map 6 is what everyone preaches about on here due to being able to pull back on turbos after about 5k RPMS. I’d look at the JB4 forums on here and it will tell you everything you need to know but it’s only $100 for SOOO much more!

I think the $100 is just to go from Stage 1 to JB4. The BT kit would then be another $140. And, then, he'd have to buy the app. That's the one thing I haven't done yet but I think I heard the app was $28ish?

I'll have to see where the hunger for power takes me.

See my sig... it is an easy change, but you will want to play with the DWP if you go over 3psi extra.

I just bought a JB4 so I can run that route(better logging, etc) , as I am very happy with the JB Stage 1.

So, for clarity, you use Stage1, map3, set boost safety to 3.5, set default wastegate position to 33. Do I have that right?
