There is slight turbo lag now oddly, then all heck is unleashed. It's shocking sometimes.

Can a dealership tell that you have used this if you remove it before taking it in?

There has been a lot of discussion around that point, but it's reasonable to assume that yes the dealer can find out if you have used one.
That said the Infiniti doesn't actively go looking for those records or logs, we have multiple forum members with it installed for a long time
and simply remove it prior to service.

So thus far it's been a non-issue.

Thanks. Was reading the thread but didn't seem to see it brought up directly, or when it was I didn't see a reply to it. I wasn't sure if since there was no Flashing of the ECU that maybe they wouldn't see it.

I can tell you for certain that if your JB1/JB4 has problems or you install a map that causes the vehicle to throw an emissions-related CEL, there will be at least one P-DTC (Permanent Diagnostic Trouble Code) stored in the ECU that can not be reset with an OBD2 tool.

Any P-DTCs thrown can only be removed by performing a Universal Trip Drive Pattern or three Dedicated Monitor Cycles. These procedures can very depending on the car manufacturer.

If a service tech scans your vehicle with an OBD2 tool, they will see these codes if they haven't been cleared by doing either of the above. That doesn't mean the tech will know there was a JB1/JB4 installed, just that something caused the codes.

See my post #283 earlier in this thread for a specific example. I haven't cleared those P-DTCs yet but will try the generic procedure when I get a chance to see if that really clears the codes.

I do not want to bother with the OBD on my red sport but if simply upgrading to JB4 added noticeable smoothness in power delivery, I would probably go for it.
.
I can't attest if there's really a difference in smoothness between the two as I didn't had a JB1 first; this is just what I was explained by Terry at BMS so I decided to go with the JB4.

Got my JB1 installed this weekend and I have to say, loving the power so far! Started at +3, now at +5. Haven't logged anything yet but it seems to be running smoothly (silversport on 93/e85 mix). Few quick questions.

1. What's the safe maximum on a silver sport? Someone told me +8 and someone else said (I think on FB) not to exceed +5. I assume it depends on fuel, luckily I have a station a mile away that has 93 and E85.

2. Is it safe long term to run an E85 mix? Earlier in this thread someone said it's not as it'll eventually ruin the fuel pump and lines. I thought newer cars had neoprene lines that could handle E85?

3. My Q50 is RWD, so first gear is super tough to maintain traction right now at +5. Once I upgrade to JB4, will I be able to lower boost in 1st to assist with traction but keep it up in 2nd?

Edit: used my ghetto vbox (read; cell phone timer and a video). 0-60 went from 5.4 to 4.7/4.8. Pretty happy so far with that result.

JB1 is capable of logging boost only.
1. On the N54 Tech newsgroup, I think the max I ever saw from a SS user was +6
2. Infiniti does not recommend E85, some guys seem to be running an E30 blend mixing E85 with 93 octane
3. JB4 allows you to lower boost in 1st gear, but today in the Q50, the setting is by speed and not gear per BMS
