Default steering pulling to the right

ive got a 2014 q50 prem with all options

yesterday, after the car hadn't been driven for more than a few weeks, i took the car for a drive and the car:
-kept pulling to the right.
-even harder with sports mode engaged.
-lane assist didn't nothing to keep the car in the lane even in straight aways
-stopped and started the car 2 times and it didn't fix problem.
-i did 360 to the right and left, the steering didn't feel like it turned 100% to the left for the 360

then all of a sudden after 10 minutes of driving, it fixed it self.

what just happened? has this happened to anyone else? what should i do about this again?

Yes, it can happen, especially with the older version of DAS. From what you described, DAS went into protection mode. Low battery voltage can cause this and you mentioned the car hadn't been driven for some time. DAS can also go into protection mode if the steering force control motor gets too hot from cranking the wheel at low or no speeds or if the wheels are physically restricted by a curb or otherwise.

After the condition clears, the protection mode deactivates and the off-center steering wheel can be corrected by restarting the vehicle, correcting the steering wheel and driving on a straight road for a short period of time.

Thanks! I got worried at the car was breaking down while I was parked! I'll have plug in the voltage meter to see what happening with it.

Btw, wheels were straight, no curb...parked in garage.

Somewhere on here I've posted the fix. Stop the car on a fairly long, straight road. Turn wheel 90 degrees left, 90 right, 90 left, 90 right, then drive straight for 1/4 mile or so. At least I think that's what I remember.
rpiotro and footprintsinconc like this.

I'm a salesperson at an Infiniti Dealer in the Bay Area. Since many interweb jockeys think all salesmen are untruthful scum, certain users here suggested I put in a signature so you can completely disregard everything I say. YMMV.

You can PM or Email Me if you are around Northern California and want help with your Infiniti purchase decision.

This is all the service manual says about that:

"The steering wheel will return to the normal position after the protection mechanism deactivates. To return to
normal condition from protection mode, leave the vehicle or restart the engine. When the steering wheel is
off-center, turn the steering wheel to right and left to return the normal position after returning to the normal
condition."

I haven't had this happen to me so I don't know what might work but if it ever does happen, I'll try your suggestion also. The service manual never seems to go into enough detail for my liking.
