Does changing the seat tilt make any difference?

Makes no difference at all from what I’ve tried. It’s just a consistent vibration. Definitely something wonky...

@Sinecure provided the information about the fix, though not an official TSB. See the following post from Jan 2018

in the following thread

Good luck

My ex's first husband was so cheap ..(How cheap was he?).. The passenger door would not close sooo he tied a rope between the door handles across the front seat.

She got stopped by the cops for bald tires and no inspection sticker.. when the officer saw the rope "fix" he shook his head n let her off with a fix it ticket.

He let her drive such junk. She n the AAA were on first name basis because she called them so often. Used "ready pop", n "see air" tires, duct tape & bailing wire .. 🙄.. He was a class act.

My 2016 with 80 miles on it when I bought it 3 weeks ago has the occasional passenger seat rattle, both with and without passenger sitting in it.

Took the car in last week and the dealership work sheet stated:
- Pass side seat rails/frame rattling
- Checked on road test - confirmed noise
- Checked pass front seat asssy - felt lose
- Confirmed passenger side seat making rattling noise
- Re and Re pass side front seat and checked torque of bolts, refit and adjusted seat frame
- Reinstalled pass side seat
- Rechecked - All OK now, no more noises heard

So far I have not heard the rattling over the last 150 miles the past few days.

That’s good to hear. Was your seat noticeably vibrating at higher speeds?

Yes, I can see the passenger seat head rest vibrating noticeably fore/aft, pressing/holding on the head rest stopped the rattling noise, although I can still feel the head rest vibrating in my hand. I haven't paid that much attention to the head rest vibration since the rattling had been silenced.

I still suspect the tires may be out of balance which would induce the chassis vibrations (to cause the seat vibration), potentially due to flat spotting from sitting in the lot for 1.5 years, this may not be easy to convince the dealership or Infiniti corporate to do a proper balancing check using road-force balancing machine, or to replace the tires if flat spot condition is proven.

How about this TSB...

Summary of ITB17059:
IF YOU CONFIRM
There is a rattle or vibration in the front driver or passenger seat when driving.
ACTION
Replace the front seat rail nuts with the new ones listed in the PARTS INFORMATION section of this bulletin.
See this bulletin for further detail.

It says for 2015 or 2016, but it wouldn't hurt to mention this TSB to the dealer regardless of year. My 2015 had this issue (never fixed) - my 2018 does not.
