The first two splits were in 2000 and 2005 and the iPhone didn't debut until 2007 so there wasn't a lot of movement in the stock during that time. The 7:1 split was in 2014 and the stock was rolling by then.

If I hadn't listened to my financial advisor who convinced me to sell the first two splits (right thing to do at the time though), I'd have 22,400 shares of Apple today to the tune of about $4.5 million. Hindsight is always 20-20.

Same with Microsoft.. Gad if I bought when using MultiPlan in CPM on my DEC Rainbow 100 I be in a similar position. I also should have sold my DEC stock at $189..I ended up bailing at $46. Uggg.

So much talk at selling at $200 I held on. Huge mistake. Dropped fast. But I thought it was a correction and would go back up to $100. 20-20 hind sight.
I get my DEC "retirement" next year.
Not a lot, but at least it's still there. Worth the 15 years there. The first 10 years were fantastic. Then Ken Olsen left. Down hill from there. He was right people don't need a stand alone computer but access to a "server"(the internet). His vision was spot on. Way b4 his time.

I got an one time offer from International Paper about 3 years ago to buy out my retirement annuity for a lump sum. Since my IP pension annuity had no death benefit, I decided to take their offer and roll it into another annuity with a death benefit. I've deferred starting that annuity until I'm 70 allowing it to accumulate in value.

I owned some DEC stock a while back. Dumped it.

Smart move. I was considering rolling my retirement but a lightning may hit me .. I want the $ lol.

Most of my assists are in a GST. Thanks to good estate planning by my grandparents and parents both.
My son is fairly flush after I take the dirt nap. I still need to ammend my personal trust.

My ex is now on it. 🙄 I only have my form 4 stuff in it. It will transfer to who ever I change it to, on a form 5, so they don't have to pay the $200 tax to the BATF&E. A form 5 is $5 for each item. 10 items in the trust. So $50 vs $2000 in taxs.

I'm going to change it to my shooting buddy as nobody in my family is into that stuff. He promices to liquidate the MG b4 he dies n gift him the maximum per year for the 4 years it will take to transfer the $ w/o it being taxable. I trust him to do it.

Exit planning is important but is a PITA. Getting old sux!

I'm jealous. I was one of those rubes that bought Cisco in 1998. Ouch.

So was I. Bought Juniper stock also. I did later dump both back then but bought 650 shares of Cisco in October, 2017 and it is up 40%.

I'ts a non-issue, totally normal for an Internal combustion engine. Performance cars just tend to see it more often, especially
if they are running a bit rich.
