Default Driver seat feels lose

I'm hoping this is just my car and no one else has this problem. If you have it and haven't noticed it yet - my sincere apologies for pointing it out. Let me explain.

In my first M there were complaints of extra driver seat movement when stopping or cornering. Most people didn't notice it until it was posted on a forum but then it became a well known problem. I didn't even think about it but noticed it right away once someone posted about it.

Unfortunately I'm noticing the same thing in the Q and this time I wasn't even looking for it. It feels like the bolts on the left side of the seat are loose. When I come to a stop or in hard cornering I can feel the seat 'slide' a bit. It feels like something is loose.

When I had the issue on my M, two service department a were unable to fix it. I had to go to another dealer about 1.5 hours from my house to eventually get it fixed

Just curious if anyone else is noticing this or had it fixed yet. Sorry in advance if it wasn't an issue for anyone and I just made you notice - hoping mine is just isolated.

Relax. . . It's just a car

No problem with my driver seat, but I've noticed that when nobody is sitting in the passenger seat, the seat seems to vibrate excessively while driving. This seems to happen when the seatback is slightly reclined - if i adjust it upright all the way, it doesn't seem to vibrate as much. Anyone else see this?

@jkay : Get out a wrench, and tighten the bolts.

@JoJo: I notice this very slightly on crappy highways, but it's pretty slight. If yours is more noticeable, take a look at the wheel balancing and/or alignment.

Thanks but I'd rather have the dealer do it on my next service.

I had the same issue and the dealer tightened some bolts. It's doing the same thing which I will address on my next service.

I had this issue on my 2014 Hybrid Sport, there are 2- 7MM nuts on the front of the seat tracks just under the plastic trim, they face forward.
The two on my drivers seat were backed off about 5 Turns allowing the seat to move forward when braking.

Easy DYI to tighten the mounting (lower) rail. If that doesn't work see your dealer. But the job is faster than getting the tools out. Very simple!

Mine wasn't the rail, all those were tight.
