Default The Amazon Prime Day Automotive Deals Have Landed (via AutoGuide.com)

Amazon's highly-anticipated annual shopping event, Amazon Prime Day, is finally here. This year, Amazon Prime Day starts on Monday, July 15 at midnight and runs for 48 hours. First launched in 2015, Amazon Prime Day has become “Black Friday in July” for online shoppers, with an astonishing number of products going on sale each year.

According to Amazon, Prime Day 2018 was a record-setting event for the company. Last year's Prime Day saw sales surpass Cyber Monday, Black Friday, and previous Prime Days, when comparing 36-hour periods. That means Prime Day has become Amazon's biggest shopping event in history, and 2019 will likely be bigger than ever. A total of 17 countries participated in last year's Prime Day, with more than 100-million products purchased.

With more and more shoppers now subscribing to Amazon Prime, you'll want to be ready for Amazon Prime Day 2019 if you want to take advantage of some deals before they sell out. Here's your guide to everything you need to know about this year's Amazon Prime Day, including some of the best deals for car owners. Check back often as we'll be updating this page throughout Prime Day 2019 with more deals as they go live.

AmazonBasics Steel Jack Stands

Throughout July 15, you can save 30% off on AmazonBasics steel jack stands. These 3-ton jack stands are sold in pairs and have 6,000-pound capacity when used together. Featuring a self-locking ratchet, these jack stands don't require a locking key and they meet ASME PASE-2014 Safety Standard for Portable Automotive Service Equipment. Each stand can be raised or lowered to the height needed and boast a durable steel frame with rustproof coating.

These jack stands are durable and lightweight, backed by a 1-year warranty.

Unless you cancel your Amazon Prime account within the 30 day free trial period, you will pay $156/year for it. I'm not sure I use Amazon enough to make it worth that but if you order a lot from them, I suppose it's a good deal. If you find some good deals today or tomorrow, then the free trial period is definitely worth using.

Annual Prime Membership is $119/year. It was increased last year from $99 to $119 annually.

Just like Costco, that's where Amazon makes a significant amount of $... membership fees.

Great example of a recent purchase - I found EBC Brake Pads for my wife's Allroad for $125 + free shipping on Amazon. Nobody else online could touch that price, except a few questionable vendors on Ebay, for less than $185, maybe with free shipping.

Is that always the case - no. It's just like anything else - don't assume it's the best price, and take the time to do the research, it could save you $ in the end.

And the next day shipping is convenient, too.

Yeah, that's correct if you pay the annual amount. Pay monthly and it's $156. You can get next day shipping in Seattle...not so much out here in the sticks. Shoot, you'll be getting drone deliveries in Seattle for items less than 5 lbs in 30 minutes in the near future. Doubt I'll ever see that around here.

This same list is all over the net.

Sold me on the jack stands I was looking to get anyways, which led me to an electric jack as well.

Last year, I went to my Jr. College's website, got myself a ".edu" email address as an alumni, and signed up for Prime. As a "student", my first 6 months (I think it was) was free. And then half off annually, until "graduation" which I selected the furthest out possible date (2022, I think?). I hate hate hate annual fees but I figured for half off, I'll go for it (half off $100 at the time, now half off $120 ). I enjoy the free 2-day (I think now 1-day?) shipping or the $1 digital credit (buy .mp3 songs, rent videos. etc.) if I elect to forgo the fast shipping, which I usually do - I'm patient. The kids watch Amazon steaming content almost every night so I think we get our $ worth. When my half off "student" deal expires, I think I will cancel and I will have my wife sign up with a .edu account to continue for another 4-5 years.

It also bumped my existing Amazon card from 2% off to 5% off with each purchase. Also, every once in a while (although it has been a while, now that I think about it), Ama will send Prime members a just-because $10 off. So, those things help to pay for itself.

It's not easy obtaining a .edu e-mail address, but if you can, and if you want to, it can be a big savings.

You can also have a family account like my brother's family and I share.

It always pays for itself for me with shipping because I'm impatient. Once a year I buy something that weighs a lot that would cost a fortune 2 day. One year it was an Denon Receiver. Paid for the subscription in one purchase lol. Not to mention the deal I got and the 5% back. Last year I bought a $1,700 LG OLED TV. 3% of that is $51. The total of 5% is $85. I consider the Amazon TV a freebie I use once in a while, but my bro and his kids use it all the time. I think for most people it will pay for itself.

Anybody that wants to make sure they are shopping smart on Amazon must use camelcamelcamel.com to see the price history. It's not perfect as it doesn't catch the coupons and isn't perfectly accurate, but you can set alerts to get the price you want based on previous price history.
