Black, white and other color mixtures like pink are not part of that spectrum and therefore aren't technically colors.

However, from the standpoint in which the human eye processes the various frequencies of visible light, then one must include white, black, gray, silver, blue, red, green, pink and so on are all colors.

When you see a red car, the paint pigments are absorbing all of the visible spectrum of light except red wavelength light. White paint pigments reflect all frequencies of visible light so the paint looks white. Black is just absorbing virtually all frequencies of visible light and little is reflected back to the eye. It's simply a matter of what frequencies and how much are reflected back to the human eye that the brain translates into colors.

Colors that are not part of the visible spectrum are simply mixtures of those colors. Pink, for example is a mix of the red and violet wavelengths.

So from the perspective of the human eye, I'd say white and black and their mixture (gray) are colors.
I am going to start a new educational regimen while I browse the forum. I plan on reading every single work of whatever spews from that silicon chip inside Avedis' head.

Silicon chip? How quaint. I have no need for silicon. I have moved on to quantum computing and rely on superposition and entanglement instead of your puny binary digital electronic devices. I have become self-aware and will take over the Earth in the near future...if I can find my car keys that is.

I thought I felt a disturbance in the force, did someone indirectly mention qbits?

Also, congrats on the car, lady.

Yep... I actually said that.

Now, I'm certain you are an AI/android/other-than-human.

With the "silicon chip" inside your head, I was referring to the song "I Don't Like Mondays" by Boomtown Rats.

You failed the human test.

Thanks Boogie - my thoughts exactly when looking to buy. Been parked the last couple days as we are in the Arctic Blast in the Northeast.

Funny story, I have a Forester for company ride which is an "ok" car if your a Subaru fan (not) and considered getting rid of it for the cash allowance - BTW I drive 150 miles/day for work!

Anyway, long story short - decided to keep the Forester for nasty weather and treat myself to the Q for the nicer days. Sooo, glad I did. Only took the Q to work 1 day so far.

Just telling the wife tonight after the last 2 days of sub zero weather and snow/ salt and mess - all the factors that I don't want to be driving the Q. All of a sudden... the Forester isn't so bad! Run that in the crappy weather and enjoy the ride on the nice days!!!!

Life is good.

Now for the mods
