I've had my DWS 06's for about 10,000 miles now. No balancing issues when I first put them on and they still feel fine up to 120. I have no complaints and would buy them again.

quick follow up just driving home from the shop and I am so far super pleased. haven't had her on the free way yet but just around town on normal roads the difference is huge. much nicer yet controlled ride without getting beat up. I guess I never realized how stiff the Conti's were. It's noticeably quieter and the ride is now fitting of an Infiniti IMO. Even in sport mode the around town feel is now great. more later but so far I'm happy.

As a side note the Discount Tire Manager here said they don't have a huge number of Conti's come back but he was pretty clear that with Michelin's they have zero complaints and near no returns or issues with balancing.

I've had 4 or 5 sets of DWS's over the years, on several cars. I like them a lot and have never had an issue balancing them (except when I bought them from tire rack already mounted on the wheels, They supposedly came balanced, but NOPE, one trip to discount fixed that for me). My new to me q50 has a brand new set of bridgestone driveguards otherwise I would be putting the DWS's on...

@pdqgp so which tires exactly did you get? Conit DWS06 are supposed to have a softer sidewall than the Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3+ 100Y XL which I have and run the 255/40-19's on my AWD

To me they are a tad loud, but handle VERY well.
But was thinking going DWS06's next do to the reported less noise, longer wear, less cost, and better in the snow.
Your post was the first negitive review I have heard on them.
I now may rethink what to replace them with when they need replacement.

I just got 4 255/40-19" Yokohama ICEGUARD snows for $775 shipped and 4 TPMS OEM sending units for $75 from China. It took a month for shipping lol. Sure beats $78 each at the stealership.

I'm having them put on my OEM rims tomorrow and on my car along with ANOTHER oil change and alignment check Monday.

I moved down from the Ultra High Performance category to a Touring Tire. Some may hate on that but the reality is I don't drive my car to its limits daily where the UHP excels. I drive corners at a 6 to 7 perhaps an 8 but rarely higher. The MXM4 V-Series performs very well overall and is super quite. Gone now is the harshness I felt. The Red Sport will always corner and handle great so nothing has really changed there. The car is flat in the curves. I've not pushed them on this car yet but I've had these tires on previous cars that were comparable and I now first-hand recall the quietness and supple ride. I do a lot of highway rolling so to have an Infiniti that rides harsh like it did prior wasn't always a plus for me.

Don't take my post as a negative on the DWS06's as a whole. Overall they are an excellent all season UHP category tire and I will absolutely miss their winter traction and the top end cornering. My big complaint with Conti's has always been noise and build quality. I really was quite happy for the first 4-5 miles but when the first one popped a belt I was disappointed. Had it been a pot hole or something that made me say "oh chit" I wouldn't likely be so angry. Now however even after having replaced them 2 at a time to find even factory new ones have super hard spots and that they didn't road-force out well......let's just that's crazy quality control.

I've had Yoko's on two vehicles. The Acura I mentioned back in 2001-2003 ended up rolling on UHP All Season Yoko's and my wife's previous vehicle did too.

Yoko's on my GTI and Gulf TDI which was heavily modified. I was very pleased with them and stuck with them.

If you thought the DWS06 were loud my tires would drive you nuts. Stiff sidewall. Flat out the best handling UHP AS I have ever driven. But the noise!

The DWS06'S are also BIDIRECTIONAL which is very nice for AWD tire rotation. Left to Right as well as front to rear. Yet another reason I may try them next. Still waffling on that one.
It does sound your driving style and needs are different. So you choice makes perfect sense.

Again, thanks for the post.

I had Yoko Advans on the wife's '15 Allroad, which has 7-8" of ground clearance on the stock suspension, and they made the car handle like a sports car. I had all the confidence in the world to throw it in a high speed off-ramp and come out of it with no drama. Excellent in the dry and the wet, and quieter than the Dumflats. Snow and ice - no, and I have dedicated Blizzaks for that role.

Unfortunately, with about 5k miles worth of thread left, she ran the left side of the Allroad through what I call "Pink Panther" paint spilled from a can on the road on her way home from work, and although I was able to completely clean the wheel wells (replaced the fabric liners) and other undercarriage bits (used contact cleaner sprayed on a paper towel), the tire threads were christened with this color, so I opted to have the Audi dealer change out all four tires with DWS06s.

What I noticed immediately was the softer sidewalls, and dry grip was not as good as the Advans. It helped to decrease the softer feel by running about 3-4 psi higher than the Advans. The wife likes the ride quality better than before, and the car seems to tram-line a little less, so there's the trade-off.

When I get my 20" wheels early next year, I'll be going with the Yoko Advans.

Did you notice much difference when you put on the stillen sway bars? Was there any noise coming from the bars after installation? What are the positive effects of the bars? Any negative ones?

I answered in detail via a reply to your PM.
No downside, no noise. Excellent greasable bushings included with the Stillen bar. Noticable difference.
