I have a premium

But I guess I shouldn't feel too bad since I never paid for it and getting rid of it

Yeah, the 2017 Premium does not have DDS as an option.

I think you can get the HHKS with Swift Springs as an option . . not sure. But IMHO The HHKS's are far better than the BC's even w/o Swift springs anyway.
If I was RWD they would be on my car now. If not equipped with DDS it's a no brainer. The flexability and quality is there.

There's nothing wrong with them, but they are by no means an American company. Though they do have an office here with really good customer service.

those are all the same Taiwan made tubes painted different colors. The comfort came from the Swift springs.

It's not good or bad, just know they are the same.

I was talking about the stock Monroe. Monroe is owned by Tenneco Inc.

Our stock suspension is Monroe's adaptive system used on many high end cars.

Are they truly the same? What makes them the same?

Have you driven a BC and HKS and got to know the difference?

I'm asking because if I can save a few hundred bucks I might just get the BC + Swift setup then.

it gets confusing because the term "coil over" really just means the spring coil is over the strut tube, not next to it

what gets marketed as "coilovers" is really just a spring and strut, with an adjustable height perch.

What makes them the same? They are literally the same tubes from the same factory and painted whatever color is ordered. You, too, can start your own coilover brand if you have enough money to pay the Taiwan factory to make you some in your color. Most of the aftermarket parts are like that. And really, it makes sense, how many strut manufactures does there really need to be in the world? A handful is fine. **** the struts in a Ford aren't made by Ford.

anyways, I have owned BC Racing, Megan Racing, Cusco, Ohlins, Fortune Auto, and I dont remember what else.

BC Racing customer service is really good.

HKS Customer service does not exist. All the JDM companies are incredibly difficult to deal with and don't care for Americans. Except Cusco, whom are quite nice but are also just two dudes in San Francisco. Also, HKS doesn't care to support these coilovers because all they did was license their name to it. It's just a sticker. HKS parts are high quality for sure, but, they don't make their own suspension. They're a metal fab shop that licenses their name out for various things, but they do fab their own stuff right in Japan usually. I used to have a really cool carbon fiber part from Kansei Service, which is a little shop in Japan run by the found of HKS after they had some sort of corporate falling out.

Anyways, I digress. Unless you are buying Cusco or Ohlins, the struts are the same, they're fine, and they're from Taiwan.

Swift Springs are indeed made in Japan by a handful of dudes in a shop. They ride great.

BC Racing is a branded reseller of Taiwan BC whatever, but they have great customer service and support. I highly recommend them and they sell directly. Most other online performance stores are really just fronts for drop shipments by Vivid Racing or one other huge company that I forget. AMS, MAPerformance, however, do make/warehouse their own stuff. Most other shops online are just resellers, and no matter how "big" their site makes them look...it is quite frequently one guy with a laptop and an affiliate account.
