So, OP.... do you have DAS or not?

Is it typical for an alignment on a DAS car to cost more?

Yes it would cost more as there are many more steps to take to align a DAS vehicle. DAST Calibration (Mode 1) of the steering angle main control module must be done with a CONSULT tool. This calibration is a function to learn the neutral position of the steering rack and the clutch phase position by moving the steering rack automatically.

The procedure shown in the service manual is fairly involved and I would recommend that an Infiniti service department that has worked on DAS systems do it. After reading the procedure, I don't think a mom and pop alignment shop would be capable of doing the alignment properly.

Well looks like I was tricked into thinking I had DAS, because I do not have the extra features on the steering wheel. Only basic cruise control and only the mode option in the menu. Looks like I'll be calling the dealer today. Hopefully they can correct this. I also see that my steering wheel is not straight. I hope they do not act like A holes about it. Does anyone know where I can check my VIN to see the options? Thanks for all the responses. I'll upload pics later of steering will and option in settings.

Well I called my service adviser and he stated he will pull the VIN to make sure I was charged appropriately. He stated he would refund me if I do not have the DAS system. I did make him aware I did not have anything but the basic cruise control. He also stated he would put my car back on the alignment machine and check it. Thankfully he was nice about the everything.

I have added the pics of the steering wheel and option screen.

100% you don't have DAS.

I figured but was not rude when I mentioned it to my advisor. Let's see how honest they are when I go. I'm dropping off the car in a few minutes so they can check the alignment and for them to check the VIN to see if I have DAS.

****Update - So at the time of my Q50 pick up, I spoke to my adviser. He had my steering wheel adjusted to be straight and advised the alignment was not off. He showed me the first report and it was all within the green section. He then showed me the second report and it also showed in all green with minor changes. He did state they adjusted the alignment a bit. When I asked if he checked on my car having the Direct Adaptive Steering system, he advised he checked and I do indeed have that system. Therefor my price on alignments are higher. Not sure how to feel about it. I might be going to a dealer a bit further next time to get alignments done.

It appears you do have DAS this pic here:https://www.infinitiq50.org/forum/at...1&d=1563809463
Pic shows a menu I don't have. Sooo it appears you do. I'm kinda surprised since you don't have nav or ACC n lane assist. I have the same buttons on my steering wheel, and I don't have DAS.

@Avedis53

Whatever dealer you service your car at, go to the Finance Dept, ask if they can print you out your factory window sticker sheet. It'll show all the options your car had from the factory. The Parts Dept MIGHT be able to print you off an options sheet as well but I'm not sure on that. Finance Dept deff.

Weird how even you driving it don't know if you have DAS. I've driven a loaner with it and it feels totally different. No real road feedback. But meh...
