How will it fair against the Q50? Will it steal away potential Infiniti customers?

The only thing I see on the Genesis that wish the Q50 offered is the black / dark wood option.

Love the looks. I wish Infiniti offered black carpets with stone interior.
It is a much more specious car than the Q.

I admit, I've been looking at high end Hyundais for some time. But yes, it's still in different category .. although Hyundais are catching up quickly!

I do like the exterior of the Genesis. The interior, I think it's just look ok. It could be done better. It seem like they copy BMW bland interior, IMO.

Well,

The Genesis, in terms of size, is much closer to an Infiniti M/Q70.

Price-wise, there's definitely competition. The Genesis has an extremely large array of features and options that the Q50 doesn't have, but due to its size and weight, it doesn't quite have the same level of athleticism.

I see a lot of Genesis owners on the road right now and I'm sure this new generation Genesis will do fine as well

I did not say better. I said better quality as in
Better meterials and fit/finish.
Yes it looks outdated but it is 8 years old.

Have you ever sat in one?

I own a Q50 and spent a week in a rental Genesis
With 47k miles. No rattels, much better plastics and
Bmw/Mercedes quality carpets ( not the crap
we get).

I've test driven a Hyundai Genesis 3 times. I love those cars.

The only reason I didn't pull the trigger was for its size and I think its styling is/was out of date. The new design looks very interesting though

Really! Compare the rooflines of the Impala and the new Genesis - they're identical. Look at the small rear side window; it looks like you could replace one with the other. I still like the look of the car(not the interior, though).

Ok. I can see it now. Hyundai improved Chevy"s, Mazda's and Audi's exterior designs.
The interior is a warmer version of BMW 5/7 series.

I've been seeing more cars copy them than the other way around lately
