Currently have 19x8.5 rims on 245 40 19, thinking of changing to 245 45 19 or 255 40 19? I want all the same size all around. What can i fit without any rubbing issues?

I wouldn’t mess with the aspect ratio (sidewall hight) since gearing is based on overall wheel and tire circumference. You may be able to get away with a little more width. Check the maximum specs for your tires at tirerack.com.

Good tool in the link below to ensure your tire is in-spec. Personally I'd not go any larger than 255 especially if you have AWD
as the system is designed to use a square setup.

You will be +3.4%, and you would be going 3 miles faster then your speedo is showing.

stay with your 245/40/19 if you can.

I can't imagine why a 245/45/19 would rub on the suspension at factory offsets.

You may always do a test fit at a tire shop. As long as you don't drive on the tire, they will take it back. Ask them before ordering the tire.

If you're not lowered, you'll never rub on a 245/45/19. Fairly certain you wouldn't have an issue with RS-R Down springs and that size either.

Going from a 40 to 45 is 98mm compared to 110.25mm, or a difference of 1.225 cm... About the width of your pinky finger nail.

I think you'll squeak it out, man.

I went from the stock run flats, 245 40 19 to 255 45 19 in a Michelin Pilot Supersport. I confirm they fit well with only a tiny amount of rubbing when I am braking whilst at full steering lock whilst going downhill. Otherwise, there are no clearance issues. The additional circumference of the tyres also fixed my speedo so that my electronic speed read out when cruise control a on matches the speed Waze says I’m going. Will be washing my car later today so can take some pics to review. Has made a massive difference to ride comfort.

Took a few snaps whilst at the shops of my setup. Another advantage I got was that the tires raised the car by a slight enough amount so that I could clear the work driveway without scraping.

Can a person with the standard 17" wheels upgrade to one of the 19" wheels with no problems as long as the correct size tires are on them?

What would be considered as “correct size”? I have 225/55/17 tires and my wheel is 7.5 inches wide. I was looking to get 19x8.5 wheels and 245/40/19 tires. Would that be fine or lead to issues?

My Red Sport came from the factory with 245/40 R19 tires on 9 inch wide wheels. My snow tires are 245/45 R18 on 8.5 inch aftermarket wheels.
