I’m looking for 2020 bank 2 turbo for my vehicle as they are only fixing the one under warranty. This has to be the most ****** up **** as the other one will go bad most likely. So I’m going to pay out of my pocket for the other one and why they have the car apart pay for it.
Here is what they are quoting me.

part # for the bank 2 turbo is #14411-5LA2D ($1657.37)also since its been updated there is a shield required with that part # 14450-5CA1L($157.51). A gasket kit part # A4401-5LA0A ($137.15)and a mass air flow meter (sensor) part# 22680-7131R ($297.50). Parts total through us would be about $2250.00 and we would have an additional $258.00 in labor

Don't know the whole story. Why will they only replace one turbo under warranty but not the other?

Why do you need two mass air flow sensors too?

Don't you have a 2017 Q50 Red Sport w/59k miles on it?
Correct, they are replacing only one with mew 2020 turbo

Correct since only one is failing, they will only replace one, pisses me off. Why would they pull an engine and not replace the other? I hope the other one fails before warranty is up so I can rub it in there face. But I’m not having any luck finding a new turbo for bank 2.

I wouldn't pay out of pocket to replace a turbo that wasn't deemed to have failed. What makes you think it will fail later? And, if it does - as you said, it will be their problem and expense to replace it then.

I think you're better off not wasting your money and seeing how things play out. What if you never have to replace the stock turbo on bank 2? That is a lot of coin to be saved.

I just have one of those feelings . To me it’s like, if you have to do brake pads on a car you might as well do all at same time. That’s the way I see it. Plus if it’s out of warranty, I’ll be floating the bill wishing I would of upgraded the turbos

I'm confused. What year did you say your Q50 was and how many miles?

Man I'd buy an extended warranty for less than the cost of the turbo..... Anyways if they get it back together and it still has an issue it's on them to pull the motor again.

What guarantee is there that the "newer" revision of turbo won't have an issue too. I've seen where people have had even the newer ones go bad.

The sooner you buy it before your 70k miles powertrain warranty runs out the cheaper it'll be...the answer is yes.
