I entered another couple of WSOP Circuit tourneys(in Southern Indiana). It was nice getting back without any love bugs on the car!
I have become totally comfortable with the car, after more than 1800 miles of mostly highway driving. I've adjusted to the tighter suspension than what I had become accustomed to in my G. Over all, the car just has a plusher feel to it. I definitely have adjusted to the Lane Assist and forward collision nanny, and feel comfortable taking my hands off the wheel, and sometimes my eyes off the road(in light traffic), when I want to do something like get a drink, look up something, or write something down. I haven't opened up the throttle the way others here have, but the few times when I found it necessary to "punch it" in order to avoid being blocked in, the car is an absolute rush. I like the "quick" setting for the steering much better than standard, but I know that is just personal taste. Going TO Indiana, the car averaged 33.9 mpg, but coming back, the car got 36.6 mpg(the car's gauge read 38.1 when I refueled) I can see why there is such a difference between the gauge and the actual number: The gauge is jumping around quite a bit as you're driving, and having such an infinite number of "readings" makes it impossible to be super accurate. Oh, the reason for the higher average on the return trip is because of some slower driving at times, as well as more down slopes on the way back. I tested out the use of the auto headlights, and they work perfectly. I was a little surprised that they didn't dim when I approached a billboard that had about six huge lights shining down on the road. A few seconds later, they did dim when a car rounded a corner, coming towards me. There have been no freeze ups since the update. I don't connect a phone, but the iPod worked perfectly. The Bose system is better than what was in the G. One of the albums on the iPod is the soundtrack from "The Glenn Miller Story," and it seemed like the clarity was even better than on my home stereo system(a top quality Pioneer one). There is no distortion, whether it's a rock recording, or one with high-pitched strings. My only complaint? The [email protected] finger prints on the touch screen.
Two days until the next J D Powers survey.
