Airbag light on

Hello everyone,
I have an Infiniti Q50 2016 model. Recently the airbag light in my dashboard is on and the passenger "airbag off" light in the center console is always on even if there is an adult sitting on the passenger seat.
I took the car for diagnosis and here are the errors received:

B00a0:00....Occupant sensor unit [abnormal voltage]
B0028:13....Side A/B module (right) [open]

Noting the car never been into an accident and no airbag ever open.

Did anyone face a similar issue or same errors and what to do?

The dealer is lousy here in Abu Dhabi they couldn't give me a clear answer where the issue is.

Thanks

Move the seat all the way up and make sure the wiring looks OK. Not sure if it can happen on Q50 but have seen other cars where the wiring can get damaged in the seat's track.

Thanks for your reply.
I checked all the wiring and it all look fine...

I had the same problem as far as B00a0:00. It is probably either the occupant detection system control unit (#4) or the occupant detection system sensor (#3). Both are located as shown:

The dealership changed the control unit, but it still didn't make the passenger airbag warning light turn off when someone was sitting in the seat. They then changed the sensor which solved the problem but that requires replacing the seat frame itself as the sensor is incorporated into the frame and is not replaceable by itself.

B0028-13 indicates that the passenger-seat side airbag module has an open circuit, meaning it could be the associated wiring harness or connector, an internal malfunction of the side airbag module in the seat or airbag diagnosis sensor unit, which is located under the center console.

Thanks man, actually that was the solution they gave me at the dealer to replace the whole seat base (they didn't say anything about the module).
The quotation I received for the seat base was about $4,000...that's actually 30% of the entire car value here...that's why I'm trying to find a cheaper solution otherwise no one will buy the car later with airbag light on.

I don't know what the availability of used parts from junk yards are in your region, but that's the only option I can think of. Fortunately, mine was repaired under warranty. You might be able to ship the necessary parts from elsewhere for less and have them installed. I'm not of much help here.
I believe that's the only option I have...will need to check the scrap yards around here...
Thank you anyway that was helpful...

You may need another side air bag for that seat also, based on the DTC. If you could find an entire seat in a wrecking yard, that would be much better as you could avoid the cost of taking the seat apart, installing the parts, and then reassembling the seat again. It is very time consuming, labor cost wise.

I have been looking around for a while now with no hope...it's hard to find used parts for this car around here.
Is there a way to ship it from the US? A company or an agency who can arrange that?

I don't know what obstacles there may be for overseas shipping. Maybe someone here who has shipped from the US can answer this.
I managed to find this part but I need to ship it from a nearby country. Can anyone confirm this is the required part?

Hello Mohammad,
May I know if you solved your issue? As I'm facing the same in my Q60 2018 and the infiniti agency here in UAE asked so much for solving this issue..
Can you please tell me what you did exactly and how you solve this issue?

Unfortunately after months of searching for a solution, and I replaced the occupant sensor under the passenger seat (posted an image here earlier) and that was a fail.
The only solution is to replace the seat base which costs around AED 13k ($3.5k).

I gave up...if you are in UAE I can share my number with you if any of us solve the problem will inform the other.
Yes please give me your # and I will call you now
Hello there, I also encountered this problem and tried fixing it myself but I still can't find the problem. I tried searching on the internet for common causes and I saw the article Troubleshooting Infiniti Airbag Light on by YOUCANIC. After reading their article It helped me and find the real problem. I check the weight sensor on the passenger side and the connector was damaged, the wire is getting pinched everytime you adjust the seat all the way to the back, then I fixed the wire and the airbag light came off instantly, I also set the wires to a new position where it won't be hitting the seat when adjusting it. So thankful I saw the youcanic article, I recommend checking it. It helped me a lot and save few bucks on my Infinity.
