You can check out the vendor section of this forum to explore options for your Infiniti Q50. However, it's important to understand the differences in the products available on the market. Some products are designed to work on the bottom screen of your car and utilize the factory touchscreen. But if you choose these products, you'll lose control over the features that the bottom screen originally provided, as it was not intended to be used for anything else.

On the other hand, there are options for the top screen of your car. However, the majority of these products require you to dismantle the top screen into small pieces, attach an additional component to the side of the screen using a ribbon cable, and ensure that everything fits back properly while avoiding any potential damage caused by vibration. This process can be quite complex and there's a risk of damaging the expensive screen.

Fortunately, there is one option available that is completely plug-and-play. It works on your top screen without requiring you to dismantle it or risk damaging it. However, it does not support touchscreen functionality. Instead, you can control it using the joystick in your car's center console. It's worth noting that the Apple Carplay was originally designed to be controlled primarily by the rotary joystick and secondarily by the touchscreen. Although this option may not provide HD resolution, it offers the advantage of working on your top screen without interfering with the controls on the bottom screen. You won't need to modify your screen or deal with complicated installation processes involving ribbon cables and fragile holders that can easily break, leaving you with the need to purchase a new screen.

I installed the UNAVI system in my Q50 and it works really wEll. I retained the touchscreen function as well; unlike the advertiser in this thread. Seems kind of counterintuitive that touchscreen would be lost. I highly recommend the system, they have tech support based in the US and reply within a reasonable amount of time, we're talking minutes, not hours or days.
No regerts at all :p
Let's talk about the risks involved with this particular type of modification. Not only is it not safe, but have you ever thought about what would happen if you accidentally break the screen? Trust me, it can be a real wallet-drainer.

In a recent discussion thread, I actually came across someone who faced the unfortunate situation of breaking their screen. Luckily, they managed to find a replacement part that perfectly fit their screen, saving the day.

However, it's important to be aware of the potential dangers that come with internal modifications. The installation process is like taking a gamble, and if something goes wrong, you'll have to go through the hassle of reopening and fixing it all over again. It can be quite frustrating, to say the least.

I have already described all the issues in the thread below
