"Auto Pilot" Videos

I figured there would be a thread of videos of people letting their cars drive, but didn't see anything. Here are two of mine. On the second one I unfortunately used YouTube's "we'll fix your shaky video for you" service and make the steering wheel look like it's made of jello at times. Oh, well. Sorry for the yelling the first one. It still freaks me out to do this. You can't tell much from the video, but there were some mild bends in the road that the car was successfully adjusting to. It's freaky.

Now I wish I have that feature on my car, then I can see myself going to Vegas more often!!! LOLLLL
That video with your hands up are hilarious....

"The car has the mind of its own!" :D

Great that you guys have fun with the car... be safe though ;)
eventually we'll have Q50's that drive themself all the time :D even in parkades navigating their way through and finding a parking spot and all.

I can't wait for my totally autonomous Q50 to plan and drive itself, on a vacation. Then come back and tell me where I virtually went, and what a good time I had.

The guy filming was one of my best friends. He lives in New Orleans so I don't get to see him nearly as much as I'd like, but when we get together, we love to play with our cars.
Haha!

Some other vids are in IG, specifically areaksv(aka mrkalu on here)

Some ballsy vids of him here:

He actually leaves the drivers seat!

That second video is crazy, the way everything is flexing to the beat, even your windshield stickers. Also I forgot the hybrid does that freaky thing of dropping the RPM gauge to zero when it's running on full electric. How long did it take to get used to that?

I had seen on of those videos, but not the other. Yea, I'm not planning on getting out of the drivers seat any time soon. That's way too crazy for me.

Actually the flexing of the window stickers and steering wheel is from YouTube trying to take the shakiness out of my video. You'll notice the edges of the video tend to flex where they were trying to stabilize it. It's hard to take a stable video with an iPhone at 85 mph!

By the way, thanks for fixing it so the videos could be previewed! I wasn't sure why it wasn't doing it.

Yea, I guess seeing the car running at 0 rpm at times is a little weird at first, but got used to it pretty quickly. Now, it's probably be a little weird to not see the rpm fall to zero at times. I remember when I drove the gas Q50 loaner, it was suddenly kind of weird not having the hybrid assist/charge gauge to look at. I watch that assist/charge gauge a lot, especially when braking to make sure I'm using more regenerative instead of friction. Sometimes I notice I hit the brakes to quickly for regenerative charge and will "reset" the brakes by pulling off the brake and reapplying. Doesn't always work though since sometimes the car is just not in the mood to regenerate.
