I found this 2017 Q50 Premium 3.0T with 60k miles for $20k online. I was checking the pictures and I noticed that the brake calipers are rusted. I checked the carfax and both previous owners live in Florida so I'm sure it's definitely not because of the salted roads. Is it the major concert or should I buy it after the test drive. Thanks

Does it have a clean title? Maybe it spent some time in flood water. Private party selling it or a small-time used car dealer? I don't know if I have ever seen a standard caliper as rusted as that front one.

Well, if the Q spent time near the ocean, it doesn't surprise me that the salty ocean spray caused the calipers to rust. In fact, looking at the Carfax, it was registered in the city of "Longboat Key", a city on a key (island) just southwest of St. Petersburg, which is, wait for it, right on the Gulf of Mexico.

You are right. I just double checked the CarFax and it was registered in Longboat key. I think I'll pass this car just to be safe.

btw How did you find the carfax by those 2 pictures that I posted above? You are the true detective. lol

CarGurus site - 2017 Q50 Premium in Florida. It was the 1st Q50 to pop-up in the list, and I instantly recognized your posted pictures were in the (Subaru dealer) sales ad.

The Subaru dealer than had the free link to the Carfax site.

See how much more information can be gathered using only what seemingly very little info. Hence, limit the info you share online lol
