Bug Reports: inTouch v2.3.7.0578

I experienced my first inTouch "glitch" last night, so I figured I would start a new thread to track any bugs with the new inTouch version. I apologize if these are reported elsewhere, but I thought it would be useful to track all bugs with this version in a single thread.

SXM Channel Name Display Bug
Summary: SXM display does not update with new station ID.

Software Version: v2.3.7.0578

Detailed Bug Description:
I received Favorite Artist Alert from SXM and accidentally changed the station to Howard100 instead of canceling the Alert. Once I canceled the Alert and changed my station back, it was still displaying the station ID for Howard100. From this point forward, the station ID would not update no matter how many times I changed the station.

All other functions with inTouch continued to work normally. This only affected the displayed channel name.

Attempted Troubleshooting:
Switching between other SXM stations. - No change
Switching between other inTouch apps/screens. - No change
Turning off the display/radio. - No change
Restarted inTouch system. - Issue cleared

Fix: TBD

Another InTouch Bug

Bought a new Q50S on October 9th.
InTouch system has failed to complete booting 3 separate times after starting the car. Screens never get past the Infiniti/InTouch logos. Have to stop, turn off the car, and then start again. Each time the InTouch system booted correctly and worked after restarting.
This morning I was listening to WMA tracks stored on a USB drive (32GB FAT32). All files on the drive meet the parameters in the InTouch user manual. 17 minutes into the commute the system hung in the middle of a song. Sounded like a broken record. Kept repeating the same ~1second of audio. No response from any of the controls. Could not turn it off, adjust the volume, or change the source. None of the climate control worked either. Complete lock up. Pulled into the next parking lot I came to, stopped the car, shut it off and then re-started. The track started playing from the beginning. Continued to listen to the USB source for the next 25 minutes of the commute with no issues.
It is amazing how faulty the InTouch system is. Infiniti should be embarrassed to put out a product like this.

Does your Q50 have the latest update on it as described in the title of this thread? If you have the old version, you might be experiencing and issue that was fixed with the update. Have you also tried the reboot process of holding down the power button for 5-10 seconds until it reboots. You shouldn't have to turn the car off to get the inTouch to restart.

I'd be surprised if none of this works, if it doesn't, better make a trip to the dealership as it might be the only thing to do.
Agreed. If nothing that I posted above works, see the dealership and have one of the engineers take a look at it. I'm betting that it doesn't have the update though. The reboot process should definitely work as opposed to having to pull over and restart your car every time it freezes.

I tried the reboot process once, but it didn't fully reset the system. I was using the Navigation System to guide my way home when it froze. After the reboot, it still showed my route on the screen but was no longer guiding me. I couldn't cancel the route. If I tried to press Home to reset my destination, it said there was no Home destination stored. The only way to fully reset the system and clear all the glitches is to shut down the car, wait a few minutes, and start the car up again. The reboot process also reset some of my settings, one of which it took me a week of searching through all the menus before I finally figured out how to change it back the way I liked it. This reboot process is NOT an acceptable fix for system freezes.
As stated... what software version is your InTouch system running? Really sounds like it is older and you need the latest patch.
What is the actual reboot process? Is it in the Owner's Manual?

Hold down volume knob for 4 seconds. Yes, it's in the owners manual supplement.

This is what used to happen to me ALL the time, and you are correct...the reboot will not fix it...The only way to fix it was to turn the car off and wait about 20 or 30 minutes. Since I had the update, this particular problem has not happened again. It was happening at least once a week pre-update, but since I got the update 6 weeks ago, it has not had that same type of freeze. Your car does not have the update.

IPhone Contacts

I noticed that My address book only contains up to 3 phone numbers for each contact. I use an IPhone 4S with IOS 7. Has anyone else experienced this particular anomaly?
Continued InTouch system crashes!

My Q50S AWD experienced another Infiniti InTouch system crash/reboot while driving to work this morning.

I had the vehicle back to Infiniti for the 3rd time January 15th for this Infinit InTouch crash/reboot issue and they found all the software up to date and nothing wrong. They suggested not using a USB flash drive with WMA music to see if the crashes continued.
I have not had the USB flash drive in the system since it was removed at the last service call on January 15th. There was nothing plugged into either USB port.

The audio system was set to an SXM station and I was about 30 minutes or about 16 miles into my morning commute when the two InTouch screens when dark and the system rebooted. The screens come back on to the initial state they came up in when the car was started (map & menu screens) and the audio system reset to the FM station that was playing when the car was started today. This is what usually happens.

Less than a minute after the reboot. a message appeared on the lower screen that said "App Sandbox2 stopped unexpectedly".

This is the second crash in two days. This happens about 2 or 3 times a week since the software was updated in November.

There is also one other persistent issue which is minor in comparison. I listen to a local AM news radio station that is available in HD radio. I will use settings/audio/radio and select AM HD radio. The AM station sounds totally different in HD. Unfortunately this setting never seems to stay set. Just about every day I will have to go back into settings and to apply AM HD radio again.

Infiniti should be embarassed by these InTouch issues.
