I'll be closing the deal on a Q50 premium with Navigation and Touring packages tomorrow. I am trying to avoid some of the post sale costs that might be associated with the car after the sale.

Other than asking the Dealer to make sure all of the recent updates to the Navgation maps have been uploaded, are there any other items that I need to ask the dealer to do before I take the car?

Many thanks,

Frank

Welcome to the forum!

Hate to burst your bubble, but the one item you mention, the dealer can't do.

The maps are provided by NAVTEQ. They release updates once a year (and will cost at least $199 - probably more since they will try and stiff us for the cost of the SD card (vice others released on DVD). I just checked, and there isn't a new version available to the Q50, so I think you'll be out of luck.

If what you really meant was updates to the InTouch software, that is a different issue that should have been done already (dealers were instructed to update all of the cars on their lots) - but you should ask you dealer to show you what version is installed.
