I opted to repair it at an outside shop where the mechanic told me what everyone else is saying on here that this is NOT "normal wear and tear"...$7000 😔
I'm on here because I am so mad about it. You don't think that when you buy a luxury line vehicle, it didn't even last like your camry

Jia, very sorry to hear about this cost to you! One thing though...literally NOTHING out there will likely last like a Camry except another Toyota product! A twin turbo vehicle has lots of failure points, and you would likely find many of the same frustrations with a BMW, Mercedes, Audi, even Acura these days.

That said, 75k miles is in no way acceptable for any make to generate such a large repair relative to its price. Infiniti has replaced a LOT of turbos on these under warranty so certainly they know there are quality issues. That said, warranty is 70k and not surprised they don't want to cover one at 75k.

I will also advise - once you have it fixed, consider purchasing an extended warranty or trade it in. There are other ticking time bombs possible with this engine.

Car was not under warranty and they wanted $15000 for repair.

I just had both turbos replaced under warranty a few months ago. The warranty cost on the paperwork(which I didn't get a copy of) was in the upper $7000s. $15K is simply outrageous gouging.

The mechanic said this is the newest turbo charger so should last at least 100k but factory warranty is only 1 year 🙄 they also did advise me that they see issues with turbos all the time. They just recently had a Mazda but was at 140k and yet these Infiniti‘s 🤦🏻‍♀️ My next step is to call the local news station that does a consumer investigation segment and see if they want to hear me out

That’s why people need to file consumer protection report. quite easy to do online or on the phone. But honestly I likely wouldn’t have cared if it was still under warranty. I probably wasn’t really paying attention like you guys because I really don’t know cars…

There is a trend of people who buy used infinity Q fifties and then end up on this thread after less than a month of ownership.
