100% right you are,,any promise on length of 7k job?),,expectations by mechanic/repair shop?
Jia, very sorry to hear about this cost to you! One thing though...literally NOTHING out there will likely last like a Camry except another Toyota product! A twin turbo vehicle has lots of failure points, and you would likely find many of the same frustrations with a BMW, Mercedes, Audi, even Acura these days.I opted to repair it at an outside shop where the mechanic told me what everyone else is saying on here that this is NOT "normal wear and tear"...$7000 😔
I'm on here because I am so mad about it. You don't think that when you buy a luxury line vehicle, it didn't even last like your camry![]()
I just had both turbos replaced under warranty a few months ago. The warranty cost on the paperwork(which I didn't get a copy of) was in the upper $7000s. $15K is simply outrageous gouging.Car was not under warranty and they wanted $15000 for repair.
Lol I bet it's more like $10, but it's the principle.Soo many of youse will get checks for like $5,000/they round down big-time..
The mechanic said this is the newest turbo charger so should last at least 100k but factory warranty is only 1 year 🙄 they also did advise me that they see issues with turbos all the time. They just recently had a Mazda but was at 140k and yet these Infiniti‘s 🤦🏻♀️ My next step is to call the local news station that does a consumer investigation segment and see if they want to hear me outClarify;,,did your shop say what you could expect as far as the life expectancy of this turbos replacement?,,1year,,2?,,forever?,,lol
I honestly dont know if we have a single car over 100k without turbo failure. The mechanic said this is the newest turbo charger so should last at least 100k but factory warranty is only 1 year 🙄 they also did advise me that they see issues with turbos all the time. That’s why people need to file consumer protection report. quite easy to do online or on the phone. But honestly I likely wouldn’t have cared if it was still under warranty. I probably wasn’t really paying attention like you guys because I really don’t know cars…Updated. That's a load of crap....I can only hope there's a class action years from now on this.
Actually the guy who took my consumer protection report was like “that’s why I never buy turbo cars” 🫠I honestly dont know if we have a single car over 100k without turbo failure.
FTFYActually the guy who took my consumer protection report was like “that’s why I never buy used turbo cars” 🫠
They are actually 2 badA$$ chicks!True,,and true,100k is reassuring but optimistic as warranty bears out..7k if all in is very fair,,,looking forward,,I want to use your guy FOR THE CAR I HAVEN'T BOUGHT YET.
Especially the ones who buy salvage Q50's.FTFY
I am more willing to buy a new Turbo car than a used one any day of the week.
There is a trend of people who buy used infinity Q fifties and then end up on this thread after less than a month of ownership.
