Hi guys,
Just like the Consolidated 3.0T turbo replacement thread, this is a thread to compile a list of engine block replacements.
Please list:
  • Year

Dealer replaced long block under warranty, citing a main bearing failure. No signs of a coolant leak. Turbos were deemed to be in good condition at the time. Low knocking sound one morning when backing out of the driveway. By the afternoon, the engine had seized on the highway.
No, water pump was not replaced.
LDPs and JB4. Stock boost levels 90% of the time. Other 10%, runs Avedis53's map 6 profile w/tapered boost above 5k rpms.

It would be useful if people also included the build date of their car and that can help to potentially identify a batch of engines based on months rather than by year alone.

The Northstar engines had this problem a long time ago but remedied in 2000 by utilizing squeeze casting for their blocks.

The Northstar engines had this problem a long time ago but remedied in 2000 by utilizing squeeze casting for their blocks.
As far as I can tell, only '16-'18 MY have been affected.
