One of our forum members is looking at getting a GR Corolla. I heard about crazy ADM, but...

Wow, $60k + for a Corolla... $21k mark-up!!!

At least this dealership in AZ is attempting to be more realistic, and it's for the limited-edition version:

New 2023 Toyota GR Corolla For Sale in Avondale AZ Near Phoenix, Tempe, Glendale, & Peoria, AZ | VIN: JTNABBAE9PA002348
Well this car has the same exact power as the VR30 stock base Luxe and Sport Q50 which is 300HP and 273 lb-ft torque and 0-60 of 4.9 seconds. A 3 cylinder engine which is only 1.6 litres making that much power is wild.

The "Throttle House" Canucks did a great review of the GR Corolla:

To be fair, that is an intentionally de-tuned version of the VR30. 400HP is it's natural state, as the Q60 concept car was slated to have a 400 HP twin-turbo V6 long before any VR30 powered vehicles went into production.

The specific power output of 187.5 HP/L is still very impressive though. It rivals the M139 engine from Mercedes-AMG (CLA45, A45) Which makes 382 - 416 HP from a 2.0L 4 cyl.

LogicWeb is a known proxy server for abuse. I also have access to his email address which shows it to be a temporary or throwaway mail server commonly used by fraudsters and abusive users. That email address has also been reported to have recently been used for fraudulent activity and has a fraud score that tops out at 100.

The numbers are impressive for a 3 cylinder, Toyota is coming up with some interesting engine designs lately. I think when you start adding some weight (people) in, the performance will greatly drop...

I haven’t really looked into the GR Corolla. I’m just not into Corollas at all. Which you’d think I would be as my first car was an ‘85 Corolla 4 door hatchback. I guess I’d rather have something longer, lower, and sleeker looking. And for a nearly 100% dealer mark up? Now I’m really not interested.

for the money they’re asking for a Corolla, I’d rather go to a different dealership and get a manual Supra.
