I think that's a typo. It sets the time automatically from the GPS signal.

One thing the GPS satellites don't know is when dst starts/stops. DST is a weird construct that is active in some places and not in others. I suppose it could be programmed to be auto, but it still would screw up when the President decides to side with the candy manufactures and move dst to allow more light for trick-or-treating (or whatever). GPS I believe runs off Zulu time (aka Greenwich Mean Time).
