Dealer Q50 pre order changes?

If a dealer has their first batch of Q50's already ordered, can they adjust what can be sold with the car? For example, if the All Weather package is coming with the car and I don't want that option they should be able to just take it off the car right?

Welcome to the boards! It really depends on how far along in the order process your dealership is ... For instance if the car is already rolling down the line it is very unlikely thy will be able to change anything at that point but if they just ordered the car then they may till be able to change the order... It would probably be best to inquire at your dealership if they could change it...
There will likely be a one-day window early next month when dealers can make some changes to orders slated for production. But there are no guarantees that the changes will stick. You can ask them to try, but they're crazy if they promise you it will definitely happen and you're barking up the wrong tree if you get all crazy pissed off when they don't get you exactly what you want.
My GM has already ordered Q50s. We have the most allocated in the district. These cars are being built in Japan the wait time is 3 months from start to finish. So do the math, all the Q50s that are going to hit the showroom in July/August are already in the process of being built! So if your willing to wait, yes you can order it. They're also giving iPad minis if you order now.
The first round of cars were ordered almost 3 weeks ago. The first Production Q50 already rolled off the line a few days ago and everything else is right behind that one. These Items are in the car before they ever arrive at the dealerships so to some degree the dealership is just stuck with what they get.

Good question, might be a good time to start a Infiniti Q50 dealer allocation thread just so everyone sort of knows what to expect from dealer to dealer. Where is your dealership located and is it one of the more high traffic infiniti dealerships?

Edit: I got impatient and created the allocation thread :D find it here ---> http://www.infinitiq50.org/forum/ne...-dealer-allocation-mega-thread.html#post18554
I've said it before and I'll say it again. You know, it's strange how they're doing production on these. You'd think with early preorders, the factory would be building to order for 50% or so of the initial builds, if they're being conservative. But alot of people I talked to are having to wait for the second build batch (pushing their cars hard into August) to get exactly the options and colors they want. I'm on the second batch list and I can't understand why the exact model and option set I told the dealer I wanted was marked "sold" on their initial allotment list...but not sold to me. I've repeatedly been told I was the first person to request a preorder.

Anyway, had to vent, carry on.

Really weird that happened, I guess who ever told you you were first, lied!
How were you notified about the pre-order process being open?
I wasn't. I just kept bugging them every week.
If you're in Northern California and would like to pre-order, PM me.

I would if I could, I'm here in Dallas. Open offer for others. **** I may change the color if I find an option match. Still partial to Graphite Shadow especially after the latest pics of it in the sunlight.

Graphite Shadow looks amazing and would be a good choice, obviously one of the easier Q50 colors to take care of. What other colors would you be interested in? Keep us posted on what you find even if it's not exactly what you want,
I pre-ordered mine 2 days after pre-orders were being taken. My rep confirmed for me last week that my pre-order will be delivered in the first delivery and as I configured it (Sport AWD, Venetian Ruby / Slate, all options). I was sold on the color as soon as I saw it at the NY Auto Show. The dealer also suggested an allocation of 20 cars beyond their pre-orders.

Where's that guy that was talking crap about Venetian Ruby? :p ;)
What did I miss? What's the smack on the Ruby? I liked it in person. I've owned black cars for the last 12 years. I thought red was a bit different then others. I needed a change and didn't want 'common' colors.

Nah, there was some commotion in one of the video threads and someone was talking smack about Venetian Ruby because of how it looked in one of the videos. :p

I didn't get that, either. The guy hadn't even seen the car in person yet from what I could tell. He went off in several posts on how much he hated that color -- all from seeing what looked to be a base model car. In the distance, generally. And in JAPAN no less, where everyone knows the natural lighting favors Japanese steel! :p

Over here in the U.S., Venetian Ruby will rock.
