Well, not surprisingly, my hybrid premium AWD has been further delayed till mid-September. The dealer said it was a required software update that is delaying it (of course, many folks here have theirs so I'm wondering why I'm special).

This is beyond ridiculous. Is anyone else in the same boat?

Coincidently, I just got off the phone with my sales guy and he told me week of 9/27. I ordered an awd hybrid premium early August. Consumer affairs just told me this morning that they are trying to deliver all the preorders first before fulfilling the regular orders.

Disappointed a bit but the only conciliatory thought is maybe they can rid more of the in touch bugs by delivery.

Now, hopefully the dealership does not try to wiggle out of my trade-in price since I will be keeping my car for yet another month. I asked them to give me a loaner.

I pre ordered a Q50 Hybrid Premium at the end of June. Initially I had an August 13 date but now it is scheduled for late September/early October. I am not really sweating it as I would like to see these software issues worked out before I get delivery. I'll check again next week to see if there is a VIN for the vehicle. So far I only have an order number. It would be nice to have it arrive with the IOS update for the iPhone which is supposed to be available in September.

Its in sea transit from Japan and suppose to arrive between Sept 15-20th.

This is all pretty strange (delays to late September). It wouldn't take that long to patch all the cars with the current software. So I think one of two things are happening:

-Dealers/Infiniti are under promising to avoid ongoing frustration

or

-Infiniti has elected to slow the Q50 rollout until the next patch can be applied.

I would too. That sounds like what's happening. The dealer is as frustrated as I am saying he wants to sell cars as much as people want to buy them and would if he could.

I reached out to Infiniti on Facebook and hopefully will get some more "compensation" for this delay.

Talked to my sales guy briefly today. I don't think Infiniti is intentionally slowing cars. They had 30 delivered in the last two days.

Meaning is anyone else hearing a September delay. Given that I was informed today my car is en route and could be here as soon as today, I guess not!

Several of us pre-orders haven't taken delivery and likely will have to wait until possibly Sept. i.e. i ordered in May and last word is ETA Sept 13. and the customer affair guy on the phone clearly stated that I will still have to bring car back to dealer for "the" wildly anticipated "s/w update".

Most of Malbec black Q50 are the last ones coming off the assembly.
It has to do with the color. Infiniti released whites, blacks, solve, grey, blue , red and lastly Malbec black. I confirmed this today with my dealer.

Ha! Is that right! Ssholloway was wondering about that, and I didn't believe her!

Wait, but I saw a few different (smple) config but in Malbec Black in various dealers!

Anyway, good to know. Thx. Hope yours or hers arrives soon so at least I can admire "my" new car in the pic!

I was being facetious when I wrote that. However, my Malbec Black has been in the US since mid-July so it was assembled pretty early in the cycle. There are normally more black/white/grey cars manufactured for any company since those colors sell the most so it wouldn't be surprising that other colors are lower priority.
