So I'm sure this wont come as a surprise to anyone but I've been very disappointed with the two dealers I've been working with.
One of them - bought multiple Infiniti's from - never called me when I pre-ordered a Q. I called the sales manager twice with no return call. Ended up having to call the general manager to get the ball rolling. Haven't heard anything since. Only contact has been generic emails blasts or if I call to initiate and they know I am looking at another dealership but want me to buy there - obviously. You would think they would be a tad more attentive and at least call to say the cars are ready for a test drive so they don't lose the sale. I stopped by a few weeks ago and couldn't even see one due to the update issues. I was to,d they would call once test drives were available but received no such communication.
The other dealer hasn't made a single contact with me since I gave them the deposit. I was told I would be called when the Q's were available for a test drive and haven't gotten a single email, call or even a blast email.
I don't think I'm expecting too much - just a little bit of communication and respect for their buyers. I'm ready to throw down and lease today if they have a car with my specs. Or as soon as they get it or can trade for it.
I know they're probably busy working with buyers they can close today but I'm very disappointed with both of them. I'm in sales and if an had people lined up to buy a car from me, I would spend at least 10 minutes a week shooting personal emails out to them. The numbers show that July wasn't so busy for them so I'm thinking they had plenty of time.
I called the service department of the one dealer I would prefer to work with to make sure that if I bought the car from someone else they would still do valet pick-up/drop off service with a loaner if I didn't buy from their dealership. I was told they would do that for me as I always take my cars back to them for oil changes, service, etc. I'm too busy to drive 45 minutes to wait or to grab a loaner and its one of the reasons I am willing to pay more for a luxury car.
So I'm going to test drive my first Q today (hopefully) at one of the dealerships and we'll see what happens. I know I worked out a bit of a deal on the lease I've discussed with them already but nothing was finalized i.e. loyalty cash was not available when I first went over numbers with them and residuals and MF were not official at that time. I guess they'll need to sharpen their pencils if they want to re-earn my business otherwise my options for purchasing just expanded greatly.
It's a shame but what can you do.
Sorry for the rant/vent but so far this experience has been a dud compared to my previous Infiniti purchases and the respect has to be mutual. Gearing myself up for battle now instead of a leisurely purchase experience. I hate that because now I am less concerned about the dealer profit on a new release than I was a few weeks ago due to the fact that they appear less concerned about my buying experience. I like to make the negotiations a win-win but so far I'm not getting the feeling they give two gerbils so I guess that means I have to take the same approach.
Wish me luck. I'll keep everyone posted . . .if y'all care
