Fanttik X8 APEX Cordless Tire Inflator

I have a combination tire sealant injector/air compressor by Slime that I keep in my trunk. The compressor is really slow and you have to string a cable from the unit to a 12 VDC outlet in the car which requires leaving a door open or passing the cable through an open window.

I wanted a faster, cordless portable compressor but didn't want to buy the dedicated battery and charger that many require (looking at you Milwaukee). After reading a few reviews and watching some YouTube videos about the Fanttik, I decided to give it a try.

The Fanttik comes with an 18" air hose that screws into the tire valve stem without any air loss instead of the usual levered chuck that loses lots of air when you clamp it and release it from the valve stem. It's 7.75" long and 2.5" square and weighs 1.8 pounds. It is a well-made, quality inflator that comes with the air hose, a couple of adapters, USB charging cable and a drawstring bag to store it all in.

Maximum pressure is 150 PSI and it reads out in KPA and BAR also when selected. You can manually set the target pressure or select one of the presets for cars, motorcycles, bicycles, and inflatables. Connect it to the tire, select the pressure you want and press Start. It will automatically shut off at the desired pressure.

It has three 2600 mAh batteries for a total of 7,800 mAh. It has a USB-C charging port for a 5 VDC, 3A input (no charger included) but I just use one of my iPad chargers and it works fine. It also has a USB-A output port that puts out 5 VDC @ 2A for charging phones or whatever. It even has a flashlight. 80dB sound level.

I dropped the pressure in one of my 255/40/19 tires to 30 PSI and timed it to bring it back up to 35 PSI. It took about 80 seconds to do so. A lot faster than my Slime compressor! I did notice that when I checked the pressure with my tire gauge it was 1 PSI greater than the target pressure of 35 PSI but you can either bleed it off or set the setpoint 1 PSI lower and it's right on. This is typical in my other setpoint inflator.

The downside is it costs $120, so it isn't cheap but it's a quality piece of equipment. I'm really impressed so far.

There are lots of reviews on YouTube about it.

How accurate is the pressure measurement? +/- 1 to 2 pounds?
I can't believe you would bleed off 5 pounds of invaluable pure nitrogen for this experiment.

Based only on my air pressure gauge, I'd guess +/- 1 PSI but that's assuming my pressure gauge is exact and it may be off itself.

I know that you know that I don't use N2. There's none around here and I'd only use it if it's free anyway.

N2 is overrated. 😀

Hey AV if I remember correctly you said $100-125 on Amazon, I still use my Ryobi 18v, that I've had for two years, not sure how close the +/- is, but for $35 at Home Depot.

Currently $120. That's $35 without the Ryobi charger and 18 VDC battery pack though. Throw those in and it's essentially the same price.

Your right there, with myself, I have three 40v battery packs, two chargers for them, three 18v batteries, and two chargers for them, so I just keep adding the tools.

I've got four 80 VDC battery packs (2 Ah to 7 Ah) and two chargers for my backpack blower and blade edger. I've also got two 40 VDC battery packs (2 Ah) for my hedge trimmer and pole hedge trimmer. I have an electric-start Honda gas mower though.

I've done away with gas equipment, both snow and grass equipment are now battery operated. My lot is small, that I can cut the grass twice with the same charge.

I just retired my gas edger, so the only things remaining are my pressure washer and mower. Electric pressure washers are too weak and my lawn is too big for an electric mower and I need more torque to cut tall grass.

From where I might ask?
I’m thinking this plus the tire inflator would be a good combo

I already have a combo Slime injector/compressor but if I ever need to use it, I'll only pump in the Slime with it and switch to the Fanttik to inflate the tire.
Amazon, coupon was an option when ordering

I should send mine back and buy the yellow striped one but I'm too lazy.
No, the regular one has a coupon. The yellow one was just cheaper (same device) because it was on a limited run lighting deal (which is over).
