I just got my July copy of Car and Driver. On the inside front cover and facing page is the first ad for the Q50 that I've seen. It shows a large picture of the car in blue. What was of great importance to me was the first time I've seen a MPG rating for the hybrid: 34 mpg highway(it calls it a projected rating, subject to EPA testing). I'd still love to see what the city rating would be. I have to assume a lot of short trips would yield a higher rating, since the car would be on electric power a lot of the time. I guess they will be getting a lot more advertising out there from now on.

By the way, what the heck does that little green square under my name mean? - "Selzini is on a distinguished road." ?????????

Awww! I was hoping it was higher since I believe the M35h is heavier than the Q50!

According to the official Infiniti site the M Hybrid weighs 4136 pounds and the Q Hybrid, 3913 pounds. Both figures are for the RWD cars - the M doesn't show an AWD model. Also, the EPA mpg estimate for the M is 27/32, so the better highway estimate for the Q makes sense, given the lighter weight. The AWD Hybrid weighs 4075 pounds, still lighter than the RWD M Hybrid. Maybe that will squeeze an extra mpg out for the Q.

I'll be sure to look out for it when I go to my local convenience store. City mpg will probably be under 30. Combined most likely 31.

Not really the first ad. Infiniti ran ads showing just a close up of the headlight for April 2013 issue of Car&Driverand Road&Track with the "Best Seen, not herded" tag line. Usually on the back cover of the magazine. April issues came out in early March.

Well, if we're using the time machine, I think even last year there was a vague ad for the q50 that was just 2 brush strokes of an outline of the car. :D

Still haven't seen any commercials on TV yet.

Wondering why Infiniti isn't pushing this car like crazy.
Oh, there's plenty of time for that. They'd probably want to wait at least 2 more months so that when the commercials hit, buyers will be able to go straight to a dealer to pick one up...

They have to be careful with how much they put out there too early. Infiniti doesn't want to ruin the sales of their current lineup by pushing their new product when it hasn't even hit dealers yet. I see Infiniti commercials all the time, but they're trying to get the last few of their current G's out the door first with heavy incentive pushing.
