Hey fellow Q50 owners, I ran into this problem just a couple days into owning my car. The floor mat hooks that hold them down are very weak. I noticed that it completly broke off! Took it to the dealer and they said 2 other Q50 owners have reported this problem also. Wanted to see if anyone else has had this broken off??

Suffice to say this should be covered under warranty, but wouldn't they just break off again if they are that weak to start with? Not a big deal to me but hopefully Infiniti will have a solution for this problem.

Haven't had this problem, but have to say after owning 4 Nissan/Infiniti products, they just can't get these floor matt hooks right. Had problems in a Sentra SE-R, Maxima, M, and now we'll see..

Not such a big deal but sheesh what an annoyance.

I have the rubber Infiniti mats in my G and the hook is terrible. I've been pulling the mat down from hindering the gas pedal for the past few weeks. Finally have up and put the carpet mats back in - too dangerous.

Hope they can figure this one out.

Yeah the floor mats (regular carpet ones) move all over the place on the drivers side.

I am thinking I need to Velcro them down or something. Very poor design.
My hooks appear still intact... I assume they are suppose to swivel.

Any suggestions appreciated.

The dealer didn't have replacement hooks and didn't know how to remove the broken one. Does anyone know how to replace (remove) the broken one?
per ESM: the carpet is held by clips, remove the carpet clips and you will have access to the hook backside - unclip it.

Yeah my drivers side floor mat moved all over the place (even with the hooks). My M45 mats were perfect but the Q50's terrible. I ended up taking the drivers side mat out, carved away with a small knife the small bumps where I put 4 Velcro strips. (Two strips at top part of mat, one in center of top part of mat and one strip at base of top part of the mat). I then used a heat gun to help melt the strips into the car mat. I then used the other side of the Velcro strip removed the tape, exposing the glue and pressed this down onto the carpet. So far the mat has NOT moved. I am a bit reluctant to pull the mat up (until I absolutely have to) since the Velcro glue will likely not stay on the driver floor. I just vacuum the mat and around the mat.
