Hello, first post here. I am planing on going out of state for a month and wondering if it will be safe to unplug my 2018 Q50 batteries since nobody will be around to run it or drive it while I am gone. Or should I expect when I get back?

Welcome to the forum.

I have a 2018 and needed a new battery FYI. 4 weeks, even with a new battery, seems to be pushing it.

A trickle charger is a handy item if you can use one.

Battery tender. Here you go Avedis. I said it again.

Otherwise disconnect the battery. If I remember correctly there is a master disconnect somewhere used for shipping. Someone may chime in with that.

Trickle charger. Cheap enough to save your battery

I agree with these guys, but also would suggest getting something like this to keep in the trunk. I've used it to jump start cars and even my lawnmower a couple times.

Five weeks on vacation without disconnection or charger didn't affect my battery! No problem to start the car again – but IMHO battery should be in good condition...

All the fuses in all my cars have the number text upright. And all of the flathead screws on all of my home's light switches and outlets are perfectly vertical.

So, how will you get a warning that the battery is disconnected if the battery is disconnected? That's some catch that catch 22.
It says "reduce battery drain", not eliminate it.

I thought I was the only one that did that.
Lol.

There is no other way. And the screws must be vertical, not horizontal!

I guarantee we'll cause at least one person reading this to cruise around their home with a flathead screwdriver today. :)

I have a Touchplate lighting system in my house so all the light switches have no screws but the AC outlets have their screws aligned vertically.
