Yea I know the hybrid crowd will have a few answers but the one i just found out is Active Noise Control (ANC)

Although Bose's website says Bose Active Sound Management containing Active Noise Cancellation is standard and J.D Powers says ANC is standard on the Q50 as well it doesn't exist on non-hybrids...

The hybrid manual lists Active Noise Control(Active Sound Control) in the index - Page 5-115. The non-hybrid manual doesn't list it. I wonder what the justification is for only having it in the hybrid.

Maybe the hybrid system makes some kind of electric motor sound that they felt needed to be cancelled out so its not felt or heard within the cabin?

Yea, I agree. The engineers put it only in the hybrid for a reason. Just not sure exactly what that reason was.

I erroneously assumed that ANC was in all Q50s. I am amazed to find this is not true. It is an amazing feature, making the interior of the Q50 one of the quietest I've experienced. It is also one of the features that my passengers point out most frequently. "It's really quiet in here." I was a skeptic of ANC initially, and I was not a fan of the sound system in general, but I'm coming around. ANC is another kick-ass feature of the Q50.

What really Pi%$es me off is it looks like the hardware is there as I assume the Bose head units are the same AND it looks like the SW is ready so they just didn't enable it in the non Hybrid.

Wonder who to ask WTF to?

Hardware isn't there. Head units may be the same, but there's a microphone in the back of a hybrid that I don't think exists in the gasser.

I'm pretty sure I posted this difference ages ago in another thread, but it has never been a big deal with clients. Personally, I'd much rather have cooled seats than noise cancellation.

It does make the car nice and quiet though.

Happen to be looking around and came across this thread. For those who have a hybrid, is there an option to toggle active noise control on or off or no? I haven't seen it. The manual reads as it if it is always on. Thoughts?

I think it's because people prefer to listen to the sound gasser makes compared to the noise electronic motor makes.

Microphones are placed in locations to monitor engine noise.

Mentions nothing about road noise.

Bummer?
Who knows.
I'm not even sure what it's doing as it's such a stealthy feature..

I believe I saw it in DEBUG mode in one of the pictures in one of the threads here. I noticed I did not have it back then which I thought my InTouch was older version.
