Just took these yesterday, would have posted them sooner but the site was down last night. I learned a lot about the Q surprisingly. They had 2 experts that were touring with the car and some F1 guy (not Sebastian Vettel) that was involved with development.

Apologies for the pics but my new HTC One thinks it's a great idea to blow out anything that's bright like LCD displays.

Interior from passenger side:

Slightly zoomed out:

Driver's door, looking down, the maple is really beautiful:

Steering wheel:

Under the hood, engine looks pretty far back:

Outside with lights:

Front, lights out:

Rear view:
Note the plate- the codename for this one is K25, DL is a dealer tag. The K32 was the gray one shown in Boston.

Some free swag, crystal wine glass type thing:

Keychain:

Back of keychain:

Keychain surprise:

Ask away, like I said, I drilled the experts there and learned a lot of new things about it, including the mystery box in the lower front right grille.

Awesome man!!! How was the intouch system? How responsive was the touchscreen?
Nice! That looks like the Liquid Platinum! Looks gorgeous.

Is that you in the short shorts? :p That Q50 keychain/USB looks awesome.

They're still debugging it and expect to update it frequently. Thanks to the sheer number of people sitting in the car for 3 hours I didn't get much time with it, but what I saw was slow with please wait at the bottom of the screen. I bet it really wants internet access which the car does not provide. It depends on your phone. Here's a fun fact. There are 2 Usb ports, one for charging and one for iPhone control and net access. Android phones do it all wirelessly.

Knee length shorts but I was sitting, yeah. Liquid Platinum with the graphite interior looks proper. Same color combo as my 04.

What's so mysterious about it?
Well it was a mystery to me since it looks like it doesn't fit with the rest of the grille.

See how it's just kinda there blocking out the corner of the lower grille? The rep said it is pushed forward a few mm on the right side and is pushed back a few mm on the left side, but is on both sides. It's a pair of blocking plates that direct air around the corners of the bumpers rather than letting it flow through. You can see this plate on the non-Sport lower grille also. Supposedly it's a trick they learned from the GTR.

Did you ask about my power folding side mirrors?

Future option, possibly, but not on the current model. Look at the door panel pic, there is no rocker switch for folding mirrors there (yet).

Another fun fact, the non-Hybrids get split folding rear seats, and there are pull cords in the trunk to release them. This is actually pretty practical, because if you're shoving something big into the trunk, you open the trunk and pull on the tab while pushing the trunk side of the rear seat with the object you're loading (or by hand, whatever).

The front doors don't require physical contact to unlock if your proximity key is in your pocket. Once you insert your hand into the gap between the door handle and the car, a sensor sees your fingers and unlocks the door without you touching the handle, so opening a locked door is exactly like opening an unlocked door. You simply open it like it's not even locked. :D

I was about to go back thru the pics if it was short shorts! Oh well! Hahaha! :p

Thanks for the info man! Im still in the wait as to how the Q50 intouch system will truly respond then! Hopefully they work all the bugs out and make it a fluid system! Did you guys get to turn it on? Maybe give it a rev or 2!

Btw, is the Q50 in Hagane Blue? If so, hows the color in person?

Edit: Nvm, seems like that the Liquid Platinum one
Nice Trip Report Fro. Was the usb keychain a giveaway, or is that going to come with each Q50 and have some sort of important data on it?

Engine far back = Front Midship platform (for getting near neutral weight balance for/aft). Bulk of the weight is behind the front axle.

The wood trim looks nice.

Thanks for the pics. Unfortunately, I could not make it out there last night. Sewell has one tomorrow...they are just down the street from me...might try and stop by.

Awesome.

I'm glad that more and more automakers are using the proximity/touch method for auto-unlock as opposed to pressing the little button on the door. Those buttons always looked a little tacky to me.

"proper"? Where are you from?

I imagine it'll be the same car at the next two DFW events. They are on a circuit.

Interesting note, they drove down from Tulsa and OKC a few days ago. There was some torrential rain there where you could barely see the road and were in a caravan of this car, a JX and a QX. Since this was AWD, it had an advantage. After they plowed through the storm, they compared notes, and the Q50 driver felt the most relaxed. He said if the car hydroplaned he didn't notice, it tracked straight and turned when he wanted it to. Thought that was pretty cool.

The keychain and wine glass were freebies to anyone leaving. We got free wine since they held it at a winery in Grapevine. It was kind of a big to-do for a pre launch event. I don't think either of the other 2 dealerships are putting on a show like Grubbs did. I was pretty impressed. Also for some odd reason, Miss Texas was there greeting visitors.

Crest has their deal in Plano tonight from 6-9 if you feel like seeing it sooner.
What? And you didn't take pictures of yourself with Miss Texas? Or at least Miss T with the Q50. Shame on you.

She wasn't that hot. Honestly in and around Dallas, girls are so hot she might have been a high 7 or an 8 in comparison. I don't think she ever got near the car, maybe I should have dropped a pen or something.
