Hardwiring a radar detector

Just picked up my Q50 Hybrid Sport and I want to hardwire my Escort 9500. I notice that the fuses are under the hood. Can anyone give me an idea of where I can easily tap in - preferably on the driver's side?

Thanks!

It is so much easier now days to hardwire. www.mirrortap.com and it will take literally 2 seconds. coupon code 'friend'
If you have the tech package, I would suggest the Macro .040" tap. The .050 Micro might work, but I found it too tight.

i have the Q50 with just the nav package, any suggestions how to hook it up to the rear view mirror?
I just hard wired my radar detector this week off the rear view mirror. Placement is a little challenging because of the antenna, it covers a large area and the suction cups won't work in that area. If I knew how to post pictures I'd put some up... If anyone knows how please let me know. As far as the mounting part, I placed it to the right of the mirror but it shows from the front more than I like. I did the same thing with my maxima and it was tucked up tight to the roof and the tinted part of the windshield kept it out of view. Our cars don't have that tinting across the top of the windshield... noticed that during the install. If you want to use the wiring from the rear view let me know.
Had my dealer hard wire my 9500 using the Escort kit. No noticeable issues with the lane assist, so that's good. I ran it down the back of the dash. I prefer a lower placement near the dash, so the mirror power is a no go.

Did u do it? I was wondering if you radar detector resets when the engine shuts off at the light. I've heard if u hard wire it on the hybrid - it may happen. If u did hard wire it, that did u tap in, ignition or battery power supply?

Ok so I decided to cheap out on the mount and did it myself for free. Went to local bike shop and they gave me rear reflector for free, with the mount under the seat stem. It's two piece, unclipped the reflector from the mount and screwed stock suction cup mount to it.

I borrowed the idea from other forum, middle picture is not mine.

Here is the better pictures of mine. I think I'm gonna drill the hole in the middle of the suction cup mount for added stability. Vehicle door Windshield Automotive exterior Vehicle Auto part
