Was cleaning my car for the first time since I bought it last week and went I went to wipe down the side rear bumper next to the wheel well it creeked on both sides and moved a lot?!?!?

I haven't noticed the same thing but it doesn't surprise me that you did. There is not much support for the rear bumper cover on the sides of any car.

Yup...

When there is a rear impact...The first thing that occurs is that the sides of the bumper flare outwards as the center of the bumper is pressed into the trunk of the car.

it's like this with a lot of rear bumpers depending on the vehicles design. and with the design the Q50 has, they're limited to how it can be mounted and secured.

It's kind of a safety feature to absorb the impact more, like chilibowl illustrated above. You want energy from a crash to go around the car to protect the cabin where its occupants are.

Yes I'd have noticed. Put on splash guards this weekend and found out how flexible they are.

Yup,
I noticed the same thing with mine when shining it up. It was the same thing with my previous Maxima.
