Does anyone else hear a very high pitched (like 16-17kHz) whine in the interior of their Q50? Its the sort of sound various electronics make - often DC power supplies. It isn't loud, but it is really starting to annoy me... I also hear voices, but expect those are in my head.

Only in hybrids.. forget the exact name but sure someone on here will know (im on vacation).. pedestrian something or other it is called..

No - its not the VSP (Vehicle Sound for Pedestrians) - Ive heard that. This is not an intentional sound.

I haven't noticed it....Good reason to turn the radio up or get aftermarket exhaust.

Yes, I've noticed this high pitched whine as well. Definitely not the VSP as I hear it at higher speeds too. I was starting to wonder if it is something in the ANC or ASC systems.

I've been hearing it last 2 days. Gasser sport. Turned off everything I could to try to isolate it but no luck yet.

Can anyone record it an post a vid? Curious what it sounds like. Where does it come from - front, back, driver's side, trunk, front engine?

The only noises in my car is tires and the occasional wind noise around the rear view mirror, both at highway speeds.

It will be hard to record. VERY high pitched. I'll see if I can try a sound spectrum analyzer tonight. Sitting in the drivers seat, it seems to come from the passenger seat.

I was wondering the same thing and meant to ask myself. I have a non-hybrid, but to me it sort of sounds like the whine an electric motor in a hybrid would make. It also sounds like the whine power steering can make, and I was actually wondering if it was due to the hydraulics in the steer-by-wire, since it's essentially like always-on power steering.

I would describe it has that really high pitched whine you would hear coming from traditional CRT televisions.

Is the noise constantly present, or does it come and go? That would drive me absolutely insane if I had to deal with it.

Spent a few minutes this evening trying to isolate. Bought an iPhone spectrum analyzer, which did no good as the volume of the sound is so low, it couldn't show it. Maybe theres is a gain control I couldn't find...

Sound was present with engine on and off. Screens on or off. Really couldn't narrow it down.

Sound was not present until about a minute after starting the car.

No idea yet..
