How many came from the TL to the Q50?

I'm noticing in a bunch of threads with former Acura TL owners. Personally, I had a 3rd gen (2006) White Diamond Pearl on Ebony interior with Navigation, A-Spec, RonJon 18" Inspyres.

That 3rd gen was the last good looking Acura. They've been shooting themselves in the foot for almost a decade.

Exactly why I skipped the 4th gen! I was holding out hope for the redesign but when I heard 2015, I couldn't wait any longer...

I came from a 3rd GEN 2005 TL A-Spec, Navigation, ATLP Exhaust. Couldn't be happier trading up to a Q50S. But the 3rd GEN TL was such a great car in its time. :)
I had a 2001 3.2CL Type-S, 2004 TL 6-Speed Manual, 2007 TL Type-S, and a 2010 TL SH-AWD 6-Speed Manual before switching to the Q50. Like you, when it came time to trade in the 2010 TL, I was hoping for a redesigned 5th gen model, but when I found out it was still at least a year away, it lead me to the Q50.
Funny, I just got an email from Acura that the 2015 TLX will replace the TL & TSX and it is being debuted at the Detroit auto show next month...

I also had a 2001 CL, just like yours. Mine was all black. I put 200k on it with minimal maintenance. Loved that car.

Well, TL was on my test driving list until I sat in a Q50
Every time I see a 3G I think what a beautiful car. What could it have looked like if they simply optimized the design they had rather than going all Transformers with it?

before i bought the Q50, i was actually looking into the 4g TL SH-AWD with tech package. i liked that car, but i though Acura was going to release the TLX for 2014 but held their plans for 2015 therefore i bought the Q50
had a 3G TL Type S 6MT

I have very little hope in Acura for the TLX
Well, I test drove a 2010 Acura TSX a few years ago :)
I had a 4g tl courtesy car which was front wheel drive, I honestly found that 280hp for a fwd car was too much and should have been rwd, but they did good with the 3.7l v6 shawd which was pretty good
I had a 2006 TL for the past 7 years and until I bought my Q50, I thought it was the best car I ever owned. It had the right mix of performance and technology and it was very reliable. In my opinion, the newer generations of the TL did not keep up with the times, so it was not even a consideration when I was looking for a replacement.

I've had my AWD Q50 Premium with the Tech and Touring package for 4 months now and am as happy with the car today as the day I purchased it.

That was probably the last Japanese sedan to look as awesome as the Q50. The past two Ms and G37 looked nice, don't get me wrong, but that 3rd-gen TL and Q50 have wonderful proportions and European good looks. I remember not even liking that TL design that much when it debuted, but a good friend got one (still has it at over 150,000 miles!) and I've been in love with the style ever since.

Like the G, the TL is probably as reliable an entry-level sport sedan as you'll ever find. Just avoid the 2nd gens with their glass automatic trannys.
Had a 05 TL and an 08 TL-S and really liked both but I wanted a RWD so I got an 11 G37S and now thinking a Q50S the only thing holding me back is the value of my G. Hoping the TLX will look more like a 3G than a 4G.
Out of curiosity to those who've had a TL, are they as quick as the G37/Q50?
My turn - My car previous to my new Q50S AWD Hybrid was a 2008 TL Type S riding on TSW 19" wheels, until the Q it was the best car I had ever owned. I loved everything about it and there is no question that I would have considered another TL had Acura not trashed it with the transformer rear end and beak front end. Even the newest versions that were slightly tweaked to not be so ugly were still ugly. When I decided it was time to trade I did go into the Acura dealer with an open mind but frankly there was no way I could buy one of the ugliest cars on the road.

The thing I most loved about my TL (other than looks) was the bang for buck factor. For $32.5K invoice, I got my 06 TL w Navi and all the options included which I thought was a steal I thought back then.

The technology included in the Q50 Hybrid now I think is the most bang for buck car out there, tech-wise.
