After seeing what some of you are experiencing in the Mid-west, I hope that the weather has gotten better for all of you, specially those States that don't see much snow and Ice.

Here in St. Louis we got some snow but nothing crazy - about 6 inches on the biggest storm so far. My 1st winter with my AWD Q and it has performed GREAT in the ice and snow! I have had full confidence driving it. Night and day from the RWD CTS I had previously. That car was a nightmare in snow and ice...had to leave it on the side of the road a couple of times before I learned just leave it at home and steal the wife's SUV.

The bitter cold spell has broken here in Wisconsin. It got to 24°F here yesterday. The high last Monday was 5°. It will be ~40 on Tuesday. March can be cruel but I think the worst is over.

I was surprised to find we have the deepest snow cover in 20 years! Love those Hakkas.

Usually resistive electric heat. Often in the floor or baseboard. Cozy as hell but very inefficient. Not ideal for sub-zero temperatures. It very, very rarely gets as cold as it has recently.

I was in Austin in late November 2012 for the inaugural US F1 Grand Prix. It got down to 52°F at night. You'd think people were going to freeze to death.

Thats nuts. We had a week or 2 stretch of that arctic front where with windchill it was -45C for a couple days.

Not too bad here in Michigan. Such a mild winter from temp standpoint with this being the first week consistently in single and negative digits. Just a foot of snow this week (second actual decent snow this season) with a fresh inch every morning.

Even though the Q is great in snow (got us home from up north last year after 8" snow overnight) but this year I have been stealing the wifes new Crosstrek to avoid salt exposure to my new LDPs and FI CBE.

I wore a T-Shirt as I gardened today. I could drive west for 1+ hour and be to the beach for Boogie Boarding. I could drive S/E for 1+ hour and be to the snow for snow sledding. I could drive N/E for 1+ hour and be to the Mohave Desert for Sand Sledding. ;)

No need for that kind of porn here. Many of us are just starting to see the end of the tunnel. You know what they say in northern Minnesota. Six months of winter followed by six months of lousy sledding. :)
