On my way from the dealer(getting XM update and fixing door handle issue), I received a call from Infiniti Consumer Affairs telling me my car may have a potentially dangerous safety defect in the DAS and that I should stop driving it immediately. They are going to send me a loaner and flat bed my car to my dealership. FML...:mad::mad:

What type of Q50 do you have? What options? You bought the same day as I did, if I remember right...first week it came out in second week of August.

say what?!
Thats what I said. I immediately called my service advisor and asked him why he let me pick up my car if there was safety issues. He said he had no knowledge of it. He asked me who contacted me from consumer affairs and asked for the number. I gave it to him. He was called to verify if it was legitimate then called me back and said it was, and that they will be sending me a loaner and picking up my car. So now Im waiting for them to pick the car up. I asked how long it may take to fix the problem and i was told anywhere from a few days up to two weeks.

Do you have anything you can post to prove you aren't screwing with us? Like a picture with your username and your car or infiniti keys or something. I want to believe you because you've been posting here since August, but you never know...

this is really upsetting if true.

I see from your previous posts that you brought the car in because your steering wheel was off center...I wonder if they are worried about those people who have had that problem.

I wonder what triggered them to call you? I have a hybrid sport with all the packages...
It may be because I've complained twice about my steering wheel being slightly off center to the left. The engineers came to supposedly fix it. The steering wheel was straight initially but by the time i reached my home, it was off center again. The car didn't pull or drift when i let go the wheel so I didn't think anything of it. Now I see it may be more serious then I initially thought.

I've left a message for Phil at a Consumer Affairs regarding this and will post once I hear back!! I will be very annoyed if true given the crappy stripped Gs we get as loaners and I'm taking family on a week if vacation two weeks from today.

I am very curious because my car has been pulling to the left a little at highway speeds. The steering wheel does not appear to be off center though. I did turn off the active lane control though because it is annoying.

Approximately how many degrees off center are you talking? more than 15 degrees?

Mine has been pulling to the left as well. Approx 1 or 2 degrees. Had them check the alignment when it was in for the software 9/20 update. The issue resolved itself. When I got my car back after the latest 10/23 update, it once again started pulling to the left. Figured I wil have them just do the alignment again when it goes in for the oil change.

There is a TSB out there that says specifically says if you have a car that pulls to the left, the dealers are instructed NOT to check or adjust the alignment...that the DAS needs to be "reset"...I just haven't mentioned it to my dealer yet because it is not a huge problem for me...but this thread, if true, has me worried. I still would like some proof from the OP that has actually owns a Q50, just to be sure he's not screwing with us.

Aren't cars supposed to pull a small bit to the left? I thought all cars are set that way to prevent going into a ditch?

Hmmm. Will have to go home and check my repair paperwork to see whether they did DAS reset of alignment check.
