Q: I read about smartphone apps for Q50. Why doesn’t that work?
A: Although smartphone app integration is not yet currently available, Infiniti InTouch was designed to be flexible and upgradable. In the coming months, Infiniti will be offering clients many new exciting features as Infiniti continues to enhance its vehicles and their capabilities. The first of these upgrades is a software upgrade planned for Fall 2013 which will add smartphone app connectivity via Infiniti InTouch Apps.

Q: Do I get a discount because I bought a Q50 early without the upgrade?
A: The system was designed to be upgradable; there is no charge for this announced upgrade, so there is no discount.
Q: How do I get an upgrade?
A: The upgrade is a software reprogramming that will be performed by your local authorized retailer. Contact your retailer for information concerning when to bring your vehicle in to have the upgrade installed.
Q: Do I have to make a service appointment to get the upgrade? Will I get a service loan car?
A: We recommend a service appointment. Service loan car is dependent on availability. Please consult with your Infiniti retailer.
Q: What is included in the upgrade?
A: Infiniti InTouch Apps connectivity, e-mail and calendar connectivity, SiriusXM Travel Link, Interactive Quick Guide, and system performance enhancements are currently expected to be included in the upgrade.
Q: Will the upgrade include a navigation map update? A: No, navigation/map updates are not included in

Q: Why can’t I do the upgrade myself? (e.g., other manufacturers use USB)
A: Updating at your Infiniti retailer ensures that the integrity of the software update files are intact and completed and up to Infiniti quality standards.
Q: How long will the upgrade take? A: 1–2 hours.
Q: How much does it cost to get the upgrade? A: There is no cost to get the initial upgrade.
Q: How often will system upgrades be available?
A: Although future upgrades are possible, there is no current plan for scheduled upgrades. System upgrades may be available from time to time, requiring a visit to your retailer for installation.
Q: Will I need to visit the retailer for future upgrades, including new apps?
A: It is expected that you will only need to visit the retailer for major system updates. After the initial upgrade, future new Infiniti InTouch Apps updates will be distributed through your phone’s app store (Google Play for Android and App Store for iPhone).
Q: How do I download/access new apps?

Q: Do I need a subscription for the services?
A: Yes, an active subscription is required for Infiniti Connection, Infiniti InTouch, and all SiriusXM services. SiriusXM Radio and NavTraffic (if so equipped) will
be active when you purchase your vehicle as part of the 3-month complimentary trial period. Enrollment is required for Infiniti InTouch and Infiniti Connection to function in your vehicle.

If the software upgrade is installed after purchase, but within the initial 90-day period, complimentary service will be provided through the 90th day following retail purchase. If the software upgrade installation occurs more than 90 days

Q: What happens if I don’t get the upgrade? Will my car stop working?
A: Your car will continue to operate. However, this upgrade is recommended for your continued enjoyment of your Infiniti Q50 and its next-generation information technology system. Without this upgrade, the Infiniti InTouch system will continue to function but you will not have access to these new features. Additionally, because this upgrade includes system performance enhancements, you may experience occasional sub-optimal system performance.
Q: If I get the upgrade will I lose my existing profiles and personal settings?
A: No, profiles and personal settings will remain.
Q: When I get a new phone or my phone operating system is upgraded, will it be compatible with Infiniti InTouch Apps? (specifically, iOS)
A: Please check the Infiniti Bluetooth Phone Compatibility Chart to determine whether the phone you are looking to purchase is compatible with the system.
Q: Why can’t I use my smartphone connectivity to download upgrades?
A: The software required to upgrade the system is very large and requires that the system be set to a special installation mode. Updating at your retailer ensures that the integrity of the software update files is intact and complete.
Q: Can I upgrade my navigation/map data with my smartphone?
A: No. Your vehicle’s navigation map data is stored
on an SD card within the vehicle and must be updated with a replacement card. If you cannot find
a POI in the onboard database, try accessing the external databases through Google Places or Infiniti Connection Destination Assistance to see if newer POI data exists.
Q: I read that Apple has a new “iOS in the Car” system that allows me to see my iPhone screen on the navigation screen. Does Q50 have this?
A: No. Infiniti was among the OEMs that Apple announced had agreed to implement support for “iOS in the Car” in the future; however, it is not planned for the MY14 Q50.
Q: Why do some apps show up in my app garage?
A: With a software update planned for Fall 2013, the 2014 Q50 will feature smartphone integration that allows the addition of new compatible apps as they are launched. In anticipation of this enhancement, the vehicle comes pre-configured with four initial apps that display in your vehicle in the App Garage. These include Google, Facebook, Pandora and iHeartRadio (planned availability Fall 2013).
These pre-configured Apps will be inactive in your vehicle until the Fall 2013 software update. Your Infiniti retailer will notify you when the update is available
so that you can schedule an appointment with your retailer for installation. At that time, your retailer will also provide instructions on how to pair your phone and enroll and activate the service. As additional apps are added to Infiniti InTouch, they will automatically download to your vehicle’s App Garage once the latest update to the Infiniti InTouch App is downloaded and the app is enabled for use in your vehicle.
Q: Why I am unable to use some SiriusXM radio channels in my vehicle?
A: SiriusXM radio channels that are considered xL content are not immediately accessible in the vehicle. To access these channels, go to SXM Radio and follow these steps:
1. Press the ‘Control’ button
2. Select ‘Other’
3. Select ‘Channel Locking Setting’ 4. Enter PIN: 1234
Currently, these settings will have to be re-entered at every ignition on cycle. We hope to eliminate the need to re-enter SiriusXM radio channel locking settings with a future software update.
Q: Why am I unable to get SiriusXM Weather information?
A: Weather is part of SiriusXM Travel Link package. This feature will be available with the software update planned for Fall 2013.
Q: Can prior model year Infiniti vehicles also receive this upgrade?
A: This upgrade is only available for MY14 Q50 vehicles.
Q: What do I do if my vehicle system freezes?
A: Waiting a few moments will often allow the pending operation to complete. If the operation does not complete, the system can easily be reset by
simply pushing down the volume/power knob for 5–7 seconds. The system will turn off and automatically restart.
