Dang it! I just posted the Yahoo article in the review section.

Kudos to Infiniti for being at the spearhead of this new technology. Do not rest on your laurels...make sure you stay the best at it!

Well gang, not everybody thinks it's terrible .And Popular Science has more credibility than the car rag-mags.

There are MANY of us that like it. For every complaint you see on this forum, somebody counters that they like it.

On paper sure it sounds cool and "high tech". But in real world use, it's not all that impressive.

Why listen to what a Popular Science has to say instead of a Car magazine that actually took the car out and drove it?

I've been driving it for the past week, and I do not see anything wrong with DAS at all. Works perfectly well in all aspects.

It works but I wouldn't say perfect. I've had it for a week also and pretty much gotten use to the feel. But I can't say it's the same feel and response as a rack and pinion steering.

Anyone taken the car to the track and see how it does on the curves? I would like to see how it does on the cones. It'll probably hit everyone single one. lol

Popular Science does more than evaluate things "on paper". They were testing cars before most of the rag-mags even existed.

What, in your opinion is "perfect"? What are your driving credentials?

One thing that Motorweek does in its review, is show the car going through the cones. I have a feeling that they won't hit them, just as I'm sure I wouldn't hit them either.;)

plus not everyone is on the crazy interwebs

A friend of mine who just got his Q50 AWD didnt even know what DAS is :p

Its just the interweb folks that are going crazy over it.

I'm not the biggest fan of the system but I do think it gets blown out of proportion. Like everything else on the internet

DAS, the more I use / drive it, the more I like it. It's quickly becoming a must have feature for me in future cars (like backup camera and navigation).

I think DAS is great. I also think it's safe (I have another post out there about how you can shut off the car to instantly revert to manual (albiet difficult) steering. It's like having 2 cars. I get a nice cruiser (casual/light) on my slog to work, and a canyon carver (quick/heavy) on my weekend jaunts. And... let's see... I go to the track with a 4-door sedan about once every 20 years. Yeah - DAS is just fine for my needs.

Wow that girl has the most amazing voice, Infiniti should have hired her as my NavGuide.:)

": I'm just gonna call you Gregory cuz that name is a f***in' nightmare, buddy, let me tell you." Random Movie Quote anybody know it?
Its funny because some places love the Q50 because of the drive by wire system and then others don't like the system. I think Jalopnik even wrote articles on both sides.
I personally love the DAS and don't get all the negativity on it.
