System is still laggy and wasnt updated yet! Told me to come back Tuesday next week to test it out once they are done updating the system! It wasnt as laggy as the pre-production model but might be because the nav system wasnt working at that time! Love the glass bottom screen!

Anyways, enjoy! :D

Thanks for sharing. It does seem faster than the pre-production model. Still seem a little slow, but overall very manageable. Looking forward on the software update and see the improvement.

MY NECK! :(:(

Why was it filmed that way?

I'm gonna have to rip that video and use a converter to rotate it upright. :p

Well i was using portait mode on my phone! I wanted to fix it too but dont know how on camstatia! Dont do much video editing lately! If u can rotate it for me I can re-upload! Thanks!
Thanks again GBert! A few thoughts on this video -

Still a bit laggy but way better than I was experiencing at the preview event. However, the first minute or two was riveting as we waited for something to connect and everything froze during that time. That was much closer to my experience in a few areas. Luckily an update is here. We'd all appreciate a trip back in Tuesday to do a comparison vid with the update ;) looking forward to seeing what an update might do.

Maybe that's why we don't have any reviews still - dealers need a week to update the system before they'll turn them over to reviewers. Probably a good idea - press would have a field day with an experience like this. Here's hopin the update works!

So a few other things, some people may not know that you can swipe the icons on the screen to move the selections left and right. Not a huge deal but I think that will be easier than trying to get your fingers on those little arrows to scroll l/r on the icon screen.

Also, the top nav screen is also touch enabled. I'm not sure if most people knew this or not but I wasn't sure until I sat in the preview model. Wait til you see the screen if you haven't yet. It's really big and looks great. It really is a shame they didn't have the map data installed for our friend Gbert. IIRC the dial operates the selections on the nav screen or you can choose touch. So much better than the German cars.

Thanks again Gbert!

Lord have mercy! As a techie that wait time about killed me!! Once the apps were loaded on the second monitor things were faster but wow I'm going to have to learn how,to be more patient if they are like that when we get them. Good thing you can drive while they are booting up.

Buuuuuuuut still can't wait to get my hands on it!!

Thanks Gbert!

It won't be that slow. Your test drive Q50 shouldn't be too bad.

I hope not! Otherwise I may need to be sedated!!! Ha
1st is not usually the best?

I was beginning to think that Intouch was the future of of Automotive Infotainment, but then I stumbled upon these pictures for the next Audi TT:

Seeing as how the Intouch system is still lagging and nowhere as impressive as this, I got to say that I was disappointingly incorrect.

Amazing.
It was bound to happen actually! Since weve been using displays on our guages for quite some time already, I felt like it was a matter of time till we see this fully integrated! The 2014 IS350 came close already! I just hope they polish the software and make it really stable cuz if its like the intouch system with the freezing issues then it will be a problem! :(
The Lexus enform is leaps ahead of the Infiniti Intouch. The apps are all ready to go from the dealership.

There's also a nice feature where if you are low in gas, a message pops up asking if you want to find the nearest gas station.

On the Infiniti, nothing happens besides a beeping sound and a warning light.
It is a great concept but I think that is a lot of information to put right in front of the driver. It just looks too busy. I'm also wondering how the interactions with the screen will work since I doubt it is a touch screen.
what happens if you dont get the nav package.. or what if i dont have nav on all the time, shows default map like top screen on in touch? Looks great though, but i think it'd be too bright at night even with adjustable brightness, the nature of being a screen.

What? I have never heard of this before.

That's because it's not available for our cars. Only the Lexus. Well the (2014 IS350 with Navi).

I was low in gas and a pop-up message appeared on the Navi screen. Gave me the option to find the nearest gas station or find a preferred station.

It's a nice toy.
But in reality I don't need my car to show all the nearest gas stations when the gas light comes on.
I already know where they are.
And when the gas light comes on your not going to run out of gas.
It has a good range left, so odds are you will make it to your favorite gas station.

Q50 will also show you where the gas stations are.
I think it's maybe two screens into the inTouch if your in a pinch.

You get kind of excited about odd stuff.

You have to see it in action to appreciate it. Don't hate what you don't know. It like those guys over as clubIS hating on DAS even though they never seen it in action.

Speaking of old stuff. das was first used in forklifts. No wonder the Q drives like one. LOL
